The JA and Me -JamesF1 - Jan 16 09:15pm
So, for a while now I've had my staff position – but not submitted an article. I've had work up to my eyeballs and have just been unable to write some plain funky stuff for you lot here. So, I thought that whilst I'm working on my larger article, I'd come up with a little something entitled: “What the JA means to me!” It isn't very long, neither is it particularly in depth – but I hope you enjoy reading what this place means to me!

It was a long while ago that I first set eyes on the JA. I remember seeing on the forums some suggestion for a Jedi Academy, and I thought “Hey, that'd be cool!” When visiting JediKnight.net one day, the news appeared, and I was there, applying and whatnot! Unfortunately, work at the time prevented me from taking it any further – although, in my spare time, I was keeping tabs on how the Academy was developing. When I actually signed up, the Academy had been around for a while, and was starting to grow... and this is where my series of lines begins:

For me, The Academy has always been a place where I can have some fun with people with a common interest! It has always been a great place to make friends ! I have met many people over the time I've been at The Academy – some great (who can forget the likes of NoFrikinFun!?) and some not so great (well, I'm thinking SilkMonkey... You know I'm joking...)!

Secondly, The Academy has always been a place to improve my gaming skills – and etiquette. One person I have much to thank for is Lord Exar Kun who taught me so much in my first hours at the JA. Everything from combos to how to behave – he dedicated so much time to this (very laggy, eager) newbie (no, Casual, I am not still a newbie). People such as Darkwood, SmilyKrazy, Shannon, Koyi Donita, Bubu, Tarpman and others had a great impact on me, and became some of my best friends around the JA.

Thirdly, The Academy has always been a place to return to. When I left The Academy, and retired from playing both JK2 and JK3, I really didn't want to see it again. I was annoyed with how the place was run, I felt great injustice for some of my friends who had been banned (won't mention names) and I was horrible to a number of people. When I realised how wrong I was, I felt terrible. I'd isolated myself from several really nice people and made a bad impression on a number. I wanted to make it up to them, and the only way to do that was to return and be a friend. Really, Buzz should have banned me for my attitude towards him and other members – but I'm so grateful he didn't.

I don't really have much more to say (and you may think what I've already said is too much) – but the JA just rocks my socks. Even though I rarely play JK2 now, and I don't even own JK3 anymore – this place is the best online community I have ever been a part of.

Verily, the JA rocketh...
