Opening Statement: Luke trained in the jungles of Dagobah to become nimble and quick on his feet. Students will be provided with lessons to learn to be just as quick. Emphasis the fact we'll be learning and having fun in the process! Topics: Strafe Jumps, Long Distance Jumps, Vertical Wall Runs, and Horizontal Wall Runs and the Accuracy of it all. The lesson here is the physics behind the game engine and applying it to jumping to use to your advantage in your surroundings. A lot of people learn on their own, but this would be an environment of people just doing nothing but. Extra Info: Punctuality is a plus. No need to seek others out although it's encouraged for help. Key here is to have fun and give you that Matrix Neo Jump feeling, "Be" the free spirit, run with the horses naked etc... Background to the Class: Although I was never an official Aphex Paddy, I hung out with all of his for a better part of my JA career, those were and still are my closest bonds, his Padawans and the Aurochs. I remember watching Aphex and his jumping way back in the day, and I was just wow'ed. He had the happy feet, that's for sure. It's a certain type of finesse and look you give off when you're just "on" that gives me inspiration to be the same. This is a strictly HAVE FUN style! This class is no longer in session. |

To those seeking a class for February 12th, I figure you guys/gals would appreciate honesty over some lame excuse, so here we go. A friend of mine celebrated a birthday, and for those of you that don't know, 21+ years of age means drinking in the States is a "for sure" meaning, bar hopping, drinking, and plain ol having a good time. That my friends is what I was part of tonight, and as of 3:35am EST as I write this, I can definitely say that when I hit the bed, I will not be up in time to teach class at 9am. I could "try" to sleep now and get up at 9am, but that would be just a bad attempt on my part. With that being said, consider this a "Day Off" from school. It's not often I get to go out and just be crazy like tonight, so I hope you can understand. It was certainly interesting trying to teach 18 others how to do this. It's chaos and I love it. Everyone did well, and since this isn't a week by week class I will not post who attended, so come one come all. What we did cover: Strafe Jump - As I taught it, it's done by jumping and holding Up (W on the keyboard by default) while holding those two down, alternating between strafe left and strafe right (A & D respectively). This will boost your jump. Right and Left Circle Jump - Remember the old fashioned Fireball from Streetfighter, the round motion on the control pad you had to press? Similar in design, but starting from the top and rotating to the side in one fluid motion, the user will jump and hold up+given direction. For instance Left Circle Jump: Up, Upleft, Left(right when you hit left jump and hold UpLeft at the same time) Reverse for the Right Circle Jump: Up, Upright, Right When you hit right, jump and hold UpRight at the same time). Next week we're going to aim on wall runs vertically, horizontally, and the bunny jumps. _______________ Be honorable, be friendly, be trustworthy. Show respect to all whom you meet.
