I am an avid reader, and love reading for entertainment, which is not the most "cool" thing, but i do anyway. If you like reading, post what your reading right now, and other great books you've read recently, or ever.

I'm not even going to mention the book that I read the most. I wasn't a big reader for most of my life. I've read a few fantasy adventure books along with my good ol' stand by. :D

I was reading before I went to school and I'm sure as heck gonna read after!

(actually, I'm not sure that's true, as I have no memory of not being able to read thus don't know when I learned thus cannot compare it to my age when I started school.)

My only good memory of Night is that for my english class we did the entire Night unit in less than a week. Sure, it's a good book, but not one that particularly interests me on an enjoyment-read scale.

edit: currently reading The Ring of Five Dragons by Eric Van Lustbader. I picked it randomly off the shelf at the bookstore, so far it's been good :)

I agree that Night is a great book, and a must-read for about everyone at some point in their life.

I am also now reading The Episode III novel. It is really good, and will give the kind of character depth that one will not find anywhere else, and it will likely not be portrayed well on the screen, the psychological conflict, the deep trails and trials of love, and the political manipulation.

I've also just finished "The Art of Deception" and "The Art of Intrusion" by Kevin Mitnick. Decent reads.

But did you know that, I think, 80% of Americans never read another book after they are done with their educational paths? I remember the number was high. I believe that. Once one is done with all school, why read books anymore?

Keep reading, yo.

just started reading the "Paths of Darkness" trilogy by R.A Salvatore, got the 4 in 1 book. it's the 5th trilogy of the Drizzt Do'Urden books (Drizzt = bad ass Drow elf who pwns). Just recently read star wars rogue planet and star was Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter.
Before that i was reading the other drizzt books :P "the dark elf trilogy", "the icewind dale trilogy" "the cleric quintet", and "Legacy of the drow".
their all part of forgotten realms, so those who have played the boulders gate series, or icewind dale, may know Drizzt ;) and neverwinter nights which is an awsome game, but Drizzt isn't in it :(

I just finished Tales of Power by Carlos Casteneda. Very enlightening, I'm in the middle of the Approaching Storm but it's kinda slow. What do you guys think of Alan Dean Foster? I think he spends too much time on mundane details and glosses over action in one sentence(it took him three chapters to describe ariving at one city and traveling to the next). I'm about to start Maul: shadow hunter and NJO Rebel dream.
so yea I love to read!

Yeah, becareful of this book, I really liked it at 1st but about 1/2 through got kinda bored I would have put it down, but when I'm on page 199, and the next chapters starts on page 200, then the next on 202, you keep thinking, "Eh, whats one more chapter it's only three pages"

I don't read nearly as much as I used to, either, but my favorite book series is the Sword of Truth series. First book or two is mostly typical fantasy fare, very well done though. Further into the series it's just amazing how engaging, original, and realistic the characters become. Just recently read the 9th book (in seven hours straight :P), and it's the best so far! I think why I don't read is much is because it's so hard to tell what's crap and what's great.
Other favorites are the Hitchhikers series, LOTR, Ender's Game, stuff by Alexander Dumas, Starship Troopers, and the Sabriel series.
As far as Star Wars books go, I liked the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy.:alliance::empire:
edit - oh yeah the Sword of Truth..not entirely PG for all you younger types!:D
