Well it finally happened. I got accepted into Calvary Chapel Bible School (Murrieta, California), and I'll be driving out there in the next week or so. Wish me luck, and pray my car doesn't break down on the 28 hour drive there.  Oh, and if you would like to help Sared pay for school, you can paypal it to sared.k@gmail.com. Anyone who does gets naked pictures.....of.....my dog...on a.......couch.....? </shamelessplug> UPDATE: Road trip didn't work out, and my car will be staying here.  I fly out of DFW International tomorrow (8/23/05) at 8:34 A.M. and arrive at Ontario, CA, at 9:34 A.M.(woot! Time-Travel!)_______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. Toasted. Went to Oceanside this weekend, about a 45 minute drive away from school. They said, and I quote verbatim: "It doesn't sound like the surf is going to be real good today, so we are probably going to leave early." We arrived at 8:30 AM, and by 10 o'clock, Aaron had already gotten himself stuck in a rip current (on a body board, no flippers, notta clue what I was doing), lifeguard had to come out and tow me in. From then on I just chilled on the beach. Didn't think I was going to stay long, so I didn't worry about it. Got thirsty, so I went to the water fountain. Fountain was broke. Got into the bathroom and managed to get a couple sips out of the sink in there (nasty sink). About three o'clock, someone woke me up saying 'Hey Aaron, I think you should put some sunscreen on man!" So I put some on. About five o'clock, I asked the group leader if he had a water bottle. He didn't, but he pointed out a shaded pavilion about two-hundred feet away that had one. I made it as far as the lifeguard shack (a staggering five feet) and collapsed in the sand. One girl in our group had a water bottle and some mango that probably saved my life. I also attempted eating something on the way home, threw that up fast. Didn't get out of bed until five PM on Sunday, and only then so we could go down to the clinic. I now have first-degree burns all over with the exception of my upper legs and where my bathing suit was. White-boy didn't have a clue what he was doing. Teh lappy has arrived and...well... Dude....I got a Dell. Inspiron 6000, 40gig HD, 256mb shared DDR2, Celeron 1.4 GHz chip. Just bought a wireless card today so thats been helping quite a bit. I also brought my ISO of JO with me, still haven't tried JA yet, though I'm not sure my luck will hold. Right now I can run JO with textures and shapes on high, at a 640x480 rez. Gonna see what my max is before I start killing this. Best part is the lithium ion battery that gives me about six hours of time when I'm just listening to music and writing something in Word. Going to talk to a friend nearby about my RAM options, otherwise, if all goes well, I might even be able to get on the servers again. In any case, classes took off this week, and though some may be thicker and harder to get through than others, I'm still getting a lot out of it. Hope everyone is taking care and having a blast. Peace!  Oh yeah, before I forget, theres a reason some people have called this place Calvary Chapel Bridal College. I mean, I am positive that the secretary in the office is the only unattractive female on campus. I jest not. I'll try to call you sometime this weekend if you're around Kevin. UIpdate: The weekend is coming up and the lappy still isn't here yet. However, the library has this spectacularly splendiforus wireless pipe that a buddy is letting me use with his comp. It has been great thus far, today was 105 farenheight at its highest and there was NO humidity. I repeat, NO humidity. Coming from Texas, that feels soo good to say. There is a coffee shop on-campus that has got to be the sweetest thing breathable oxygen. I mean, they even sell the caramel frappachinos (can't believe I spelled that right on the first try. Bad sign. ) which you won't find ANYWHERE else. Literally. Oh yeah, my other two roomies showed up yesterday. Adam (the 23 year-old latino who won't grow up past the age of 19 ) and Greg (who is 18, and rocks out on his sweet little Strat like nobody's buisness. ) The room is designed for six guys (which is nice, since the other dorms hold eight to ten) and with only five of us, the extra breathing room is awesome. The only drawback is that Stuey is an insane Florida State fan and has already claimed an entire wall with posters. It's all good, I've already posted my Jedi/Sith posters. This afternoon we all hunted down this awesome thrift store, pitched in a couple bucks apiece, and we picked ouselves up a couch. Totally awesome, and I am soooo hyped about it. Anyway, tonite the guys have full reign on the Roman Spa (DOMINATION!!!), so I'm gonna jet. I'll start burning film tommorow and by the end of next week, I should have some good pictures to show yall. Lata! _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

Quick Update: Hey, I've got a second to send you something real quick, then I'm outta here before registration begins. I'm registered to take 20.5 hours this semester, six required classes and three electives. I've already met two of my dorm mates, Stuard and Lewis (Stuard is the resident dorm steward). We have two more with us, but one I havent met, and the other hasn't come in yet. Waited at the terminal for about twenty minutes before the shuttle came, and then when they did get there, myself and another guy elected to give up our seats for another group that had been waiting already for two hours. So we chilled, and caught up with three others there. Two from Wisconsin, and another from Alaska. After another two hour wait, the shuttle came back and picked us up, along with three others at another terminal (someone from Oregon, someone from Michigan, and a girl from Hawaii), while looking for a landing spot to pick them up, we circled around the terminal at least twelve times, give or take. The campus is beautiful, and I will be burning an entire roll of film on nothing but landscape shots. Peace all, see you around! _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |
