I read in the FAQ that is was a good idea to join a server before taking your first class but, I am brand spanking new and I was just wondering if it is ok to jump on a server and get my butt kicked even though I need training. I mean I am a total beginner.
Also, Is it ok to talk on the servers or is it just fighting? Are there no kill zones, that sort of thing. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks. _______________ One of the Belouve boys |

Well, my Padawan did well to bring this to my mind. And so I write something to help us all out. With a quote from Master Dooku.
If a person understands the virtue of humility, he is the person who also understands the importance of constant self improvement. This constant self improvement not only includes the search for higher knowledge, but also encompasses the need to be more humane, better performance in daily duties, and improved communication with friends. Many benefits and rewards result from behaving with an understanding of humility. Jedi are special, and here at the Academy, some may have greater mastery than others. But their ability, or rank, does not make them better than other people. A student here at the JA is only a student because someone else has taken the trouble to teach him. A JAK is a JAK because the Masters or Council have determined that the student has reached a high point in teaching, perhaps not needing to learn much else. A Master or a JAT is such because they have discarded their own sense of self-importance and embraced the will of the Force. It is through this will that they may serve the Academy in such a position. As Master Dooku (here's that quote, it comes from a book) explained to a class of Jedi students: "The acceptance of others is not a guarantee. Like everyone else, a Jedi is accepted or not based on his behavior. The Jedi who believes that he is more important than others only demonstrates that his opinion is to be ignored." So I guess more is added to the lesson in humility here. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Jedi fight for civilization, because only civilization creates peace. |

ok, listen up:
-about talking or killing: You are always allowed to talk, but i would advise you to duel from time to time, especially coz you're a beginner. Practise, it'll help you out. -about no killing zones: it is not allowed to just kill som1 without warning, especially not when his saber is off. You should just simply challenge him by aiming at him and pressing k. Duels are to be done in the rooms build for it. If you need any help, I'll be glad to help you! Need a tour in the map? sure, tell me when. Need help on moves and more stuff related to dueling? sure, tell me when.
