Okay these are my thoughts on swtor, to tell you the truth I HATE MMO's, but the way BioWare made this game is amazing  It made me feel apart of the Star Wars Universe again xD like the feeling when i first played jk2 and jk3 
It was amazing to play and all in all it had a good gaming experience for me on MMO's i played swtor for like 8 hours straight xD |

I heard LucasArts, I mean Disney is working on a new Star Wars RPG, this could be KOTOR 3 or TOR 2. Disney first took the "Art" out of LucasArts, then scrapped the whole company....Disney should partner with EA, they have common strategies... _______________ I'm a resident Ashlan Philosopher |

Well imagine you wanna play SWTOR for the singleplayer story thinking it's gonna be something like KOTOR. And then 30 hours later you find yourself at level 25 and realize that it's gonna take much longer to finish SWTOR compared to KOTOR. You then contemplate whether you should keep playing. For me, I've had enough. The game has some good features but objectively speaking, I was wasting too much time playing for just the storyline. That and I think the game engine is laughably bad. I'm sure there'll be other F2P'ers that keep playing or subscribe instead of quitting like me but yeah some of us rather do other stuff. This comment was edited by Sauce on Dec 07 2012 05:10pm. |

All the exp reduction does is make it so you have to either complete every quest or dungeon spam for a bit. As a subsciber I was forced to skip content due to quests being grey. I had to skip all of nar shaddaa, and Quesh(cept for story missions). Enjoy the epic questage for the very low price of NOTHING. _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. The XP thing is the one thing that really grinds my gears about it. To level alongside another player without a headache it means constant purchasing of the XP boost packs or subbing.
It makes sense given their model is practically: F2P = Single player experience of the BW story, pay money to experience the multiplayer aspect. I played some swtor yesterday night as as f2p player. Took like 1 hour to gain half a level (currently at level 13). WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
I did notice more people questing though. |

I don't really trust videos like that. Subscribers have gotten an increase to increase gain, while F2P has the same exp gain rate prior to 1.5. just played swtor f2p.
there are some very odd things about f2p model. i guess the people who thought of all the restrictions were extremely creative... which is unfortunate. -only 2 quickbars... sigh... id expect that if im getting abilities for free that i can actually use them. seems a little unneccesary thats for sure. -lowered exp. this is one of the strangest subjects. on a surface it seems like a very obvious thing to do, but... higher exp means you will move on to the next planet or whatever faster... and most likely skip your least favorite quests in the process. there is little to no incentive to play those quests, because there is quite a big number of quests that arent even that interesting, rewards suck etc. you would think devs would make it rewarding somewhat... but the only people who have incentive to finish those quests are f2pers since they arent getting enough exp unless they finish pretty much everything. silly as hell. a little more general swtor stuff --------------------------------------------- while i played swtor in beta... i almost forgot how outdated char creation is. not to mention horrible race choices. probably gonna make a wookie race for a billion cartel coins. yeah sounds reasonable. so far i leveled sith warrior, juggernaut immortal spec to level 20. that was probably my mistake, since leveling a tank is always tedious. the story is alright so far... nar shadas section of the story for quite underwhelming though. seemed really rushed to a point where it looked just random. class stuff aside... i was pretty amazed how boring balmora planet was. after seeing quite a few quests i just skipped like 2/3 of them and rushed straight to nar shaddaa... in general game feels like watching popular animes. 90% fillers, 10% good stuff. the only thing that keeps me going is my fanboy attitude towards star wars. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Okay i had problems on some of the levels that made me put my fist threw something but its still fun and annonying at some parts xD i personally like somebits of the story but i hate the Jedi side of it -.- |

There are some ups and downs that pretty much any game has. I wouldn't recommend going Consular as your first run through though.. I wanted to punch something playing that story. Love the way the other classes go though.

The tutorial planet is pretty awesome. Things take a serious nosedive after that though, especially if you get through coruscant hoping that things will improve but then notice that the next place is basically the same with different wallpapers. It made me want to punch something.
