What would make the game more realistic? | |
Huxley - Retired |
... Here's some deep-thoughts by Jack Huxley...
What would make the game more realistic to play? Realistic as in 'like the movies' ?? Any possible improvements that everyone could contribute to? Maybe a USB-Light saber, so we can stand up and duel? Lets talk... |

Another thing that I may add, is getting a certain amount of Force Points, which you can spend freely. You can use them for all Dark Side Powers, all Light Side Power, or a combination. You could get for example, Lightning, Grip, Heal and Absorb. This would create a more realistic feeling, since in the movies and books Jedi can use Dark Side or Light Side powers even when they are a (Dark) Jedi. Also, you should be able to absorb Lightning and Drain with your Lightsaber, but only if you had your crosshair on the enemie. Absorbing in general should only be able when your facing your opponent. Now you can absorb stuff with your back to the opponent, that's BS. |

only thing i would add is i would like to see proper stances/styles rather than a basic red/blue/yellow idea, KotOR 2 had Niman, soresu etc. Just a thought, dunno if it would make it more realistic per say. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? hmm...good question...well for starters people could buy these suckers which attach to your skin and respond to your movements. In jedi academy, u could then have proper EPIC fights uh ha uh ha uh ha and swot things with your very own movements of your arm s etc. This may have dangerous consequences however. You dont want to suddenly swing and hit, for example, your brother or sister in the face....or in a worse situation...you parents.... |

I don't think any games are going to become completely realistic for a long while, but.. Maybe limiting the amount of force powers you are able to use. Along with making saber combat more interactive, instead of just clicking to do the same slices each time. |

Quote: 7. Nix Force Heal. This is the only thing Java said that I don't agree with. Maybe it wasn't explicitly mentioned in the original movies, but the idea of deep meditation (a "healing trance" speeding up the body's natural rate of healing drastically, as well as stopping bleeding etc nearly instantly, is firmly entrenched in EU lore by now. Well techinically Remove everything that was removed in MB 2 and maybe more Rage, Drain Protect, Heal And absorb either needs to stay, or you just need to be able to block Dark force powers, actually maybe all jedi should be immune to all force powers, but you need a small stipulation. 1.) No Jedi would ever fall for mind-trick, jedi can block grip/lghtning if they are looking at the jedi attacking them with it. The blocking in MB 2, is a start but it far from perfect, I think as long as your holding block people can come up from behind and youll even block that. Parry is in the game fine, that is just moving out of the way, its BLOCKING that is super, weak. It might almost be better if you hold a key, or something like caps lock is on/off, and all of you attacks are stopped 50% of the way through them, cause a block instead of a full attack. _______________ Silent Bob (Kevin Smith): You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. Quote: 1. A single shot from any blaster would kill most people in most instances. There were places in the movie where someone was injured but not killed by blaster fire, but these were rare exceptions. In the original novel Star Wars, Lucas himself wrote that even stormtrooper armor, though it would deflect a glancing shot, was no defense against a direct hit. 2. Lots more parrying with sabres. 3. Every hit from a sabre would cause dismemberment at the very least. 4. This one's one of my peeves about most computer games: When you do get hurt, you shouldn't be able to continue fighting exactly as if you were uninjured. You should move much more slowly and be abled to do a lot less. Yes, there are real-life human beings who took out machine gun nests after having a leg blown off, but they did it by making a slow, agonizing crawl to the nest and then, with enormous effort, chucking a grenade into it--not by charging up over the top as if they had never been hurt at all. I shouldn't have to guess that my opponent is close to having only one point of health left; it should be obvious from the fact that he's laying on the floor almost immobile. 5. A lightsabre should be able to cut through anything on the map. There are obvious technical reasons why this can't be in the game, but it would certainly make it more "realistic" in a like-the-movies sense. 6. There should be a Telekenesis Force power. 7. Nix Force Heal. 8. Fatigue! Currently, you can run forever and fight forever without ever slowing down. Jedi are highly trained and conditioned warriors, so certainly they have physical stamina far beyond normal people, but they can't possibly have unlimited endurance. After enough running they should start to slow down and need to rest. Using Force Speed, of course, should temporarily negate the effects of fatigue. _______________ My signature is only one line.
