... it didn't really answer this question sufficiently. I was wondering two things:
1) What is the most physically demanding martial art and
2) What is the most mentally demanding?

That is all.

just one more thought: i think that all martial arts (as all sports) are 'most demanding', both phisically and mentally. imo, it depends on how much commitment and will you have (which are fixed limits).

Yeah..Jet Li used it in the movie, "Kiss of the Dragon". He also explained the concept behind it as the man dies... Interesting to find out it's a real technique... Scary too!

Gotta go with Wing Chun and Wu Shu, and possibly Kendo. Dim Mak is actually used in concurrence with some martial arts (elements can be found back in Taijiquan Yang Style).

To put my own two cents forth, I'd like to say Penchak Silat is physically quite demanding, in the higher levels. :)

The extreme rigors of shaolin kung fu aside, I would say the most demanding are wing chun and wu shu.

"Kiss of the Dragon" Ying Yang, such as in like the jet li movie? hehe. Yes you described it pretty much exactly as he did, interesting to know that it's a real thing.

i think i may remember the 2nd 1 it may be hazy
but in american terms its called "kiss of the dragon"very forbiden and acient the move is delt by a small presure to the back of the neck it needs to hit a specific point of the neck area
the death is very painful and such i wont go into details:P(ima try and fidn the oriental term for it cause i cant remeber it)

Yeah, Dim Mak is the shorter version of that. What about the other one? The minimal movement one? I am still not too sure about that.

Your mother is a wise woman YY, I have read quite a bit and have learned a lot from Dim Mak, but I do not/would not want to kill anyone. I personally think its fascinating, how a style as that developed out of acupuncture. :)

Chueh (if i remeber my history correct XD)"death touch" is called di'm mak..in ne case i could be a bit off as well my memory isnt allto good in past styles like REALY old styles :P

Me, I am a Period Fencer. You know, Raipers, Epee, Sabre. REAL swordplay. :) It is pretty physically demanding. :) Given, some martial arts may be more so, but fencing will burn you at both ends. Literally. ;)

As far as a mental demand, either Jinritsu, either that or Jiritsu, I can't remember which is the correct spelling. Anywho, its the art of minimal movement. I have seen a seventy-two year-old, nintey-one pound lady completely flip a guy that had to have been in his late twenties, and more than two-hundred pounds, while completely standing still. All she moved were her wrists, maybe her eyes. ;)

The other mentally demanding martial art, IF it can even be called that, that has taken my interest is Nien Jih Ssu Ch'u Chueh. Roughly tranlated to english as 'Death Touch'. If YY knows what I am talking about then she will probably want me to shut up right there. :) Go look it up fer yerself. ;)

due to the intesnity of the fight, the stamina needed to fight wearing an armor, to wield a (2 handed) sword and to deliver blows using the whole body in the shortest time with the greater speed possible, one of the most phisically demanding surely is kendo. about the mental side, i'd say that they are all very demanding, and how much you 'concentrate' only depends on you. meaning that you could find them all very demanding, or little demanding. but in this last case, you wouldn't be a good practicer...
