Well there have been threads on bible and Tolkein so I figured that something jewsish was needed. For those of you who don't know the Talmud is a combination of the Mishna (jewish law set forth back in time in the time of the Roman Empire) and the G'marah (commentaries on those laws by the great rabbis such as Maimonides). There are two G'marahs (or G'marim in hebrew): The babylonian and the Jerusalem. Most Jews follow the babylonian because it was set in the Golah (the diasporah(any place that isn't Israel)) and most Jes are in the Golah. Even jews in Jerusalem follow the babylonian G'marah because it is more completed, because of the Roman occupation in Israel it had to be cut short. But from this babylonian G'marah come some of the most famous like the Shulchan Aruch (literatly translated it means "Set Table"(a.k.a Mappah literatly translated means tablecloth)). His real name was Moshe Isserls. The S.A. was his book, he was so famous that he was named after his own book. If you want more facts: Click Here or take 12 years in a jewish private school like i did and learn the stuff, and dont't forget your responsa (its full of up to date laws (and explanations of those laws) that concern our society today as Jews) _______________ Shout out to DJ Sith cause he's my big bro.
