Yeah, I am still doing music. Not only in the band I played in before, but in 2 others as well.
Apart from that, I had 2 rough months getting some serious RL issues in order, etc. bleh, ya know?
It would be cool to see you once in a while on the servers. (I haven't been active lately due to above reasons, but I am managing to do some more JK3 now). Looking at your profile pic reminds me of the days were I had a few less things to worry about. Good times. So yeah, bring back the Acky Ack! to the servers once in a while if you so please and I am sure you will have a great time as usual. You see, I really like how the Jedi Academy used to be. When people where friendly, helpful and cared about playing honorably and following the rules. The JAK+ wouldn't use nor teach exploits, in fact, they would play legitly, be successful and show students how to do the same. However, things have changed over time while I have not. (And that is the actual problem in a nutshell.)
For instance, these days rules are being broken a lot more than in the past in the name of 'fun'. The JAK+ does little about this, they actually join in with it, because they feel it's alright as long as nobody is annoyed by it. And that makes perfect sense. However, I disagree, because I think it's fine if you break them for fun for a short period of time, but if you break them all the time, you might as well not have these rules in place at all. To me the laming and gunning/FFAing in wrong places kind of give the JA servers a 'chaotic public server' feel where people don't care about the rules as much. I very much prefer the old atmosphere where most members respected and cared about the rules and wouldn't break them even if they could. A lot of people also don't seem to care so much about how they play anymore, they resort to exploits so they can 'score frags' more. It's entirely up to them, although it raises the question whether I want to train them or not. Because I don't train exploiters on principle. The JA has also changed its stance towards exploits - JAK+ are now allowed to use exploits (and some do) and teach them in classes and one on one training sessions. The main reason for that is that some JAK+ believe we need to teach exploits to students to make them as 'good' as they can be. This will make them more effective of course, but I personally think being 'good' is 'playing skillfully' and not cheating by using obvious game bugs. Now, I understand that a community changes over time and it may not be such a bad thing. The JAK+ do have their reasons for the choices they made and are doing what they think is best. However, I'm personally convinced the 'old way' is best and to such an extent that I can't stand behind the JA as it currently is. It's 'going down a path I can't follow'
With that said, I'm still available for all of my padawans for training. You are a great bunch of people and I'm not about to walk out on you guys. Feel free to ask me for training (from one student to another) whenever you wish. I can't hold any padawan sessions anymore, though. I'm probably the only one left who cares about this, but students aren't allowed to hold schedualed events. Ack! Wow Muro, it's good to hear form you again! Well, people actually still play JKA and I'm one of them. We tend to play during the evenings (GMT) at the EU MultiPlay Server or on another server (which is currently unrelated to the JA).
Yeah, I decided to retire a year ago. Some changes have been made to the JA that I didn't personally agree with you see. I also didn't want any obligations anymore regarding playing, adminning, keeping my skills up to par, teaching classes every week, etc. If you should ever like any training though, feel free to come to me and ask at any time.
