This is a day I never wished would come. The day the person known to me as 'Mazza' would step down and fade to 'the real world'. A person I will always hold near and dear to my heart. Here, I was able to talk to him about his time here... Sared : So, Master, why don't you tell everyone how you came to the Academy? Bubu : Well, I actually saw the academy even before they opened it in the summer, two years ago. I made a mental note back then to come back and check it out later. I really thought it was a cool idea.  Of course as mental notes usually go, I forgot all about it until a few months later I saw something about it on jk2files.com and decided to join. I remember being very nervous about making a good first impression. The JA was much smaller back then.  :Sared : What were your first impressions when you came here? Bubu : I thought everyone was so nice for an online community. Up until then, I was used to getting flamed for anything I said on online forums. Of course back then we didn't even have forums yet. But still, I was very impressed with the amount of "decency" people had as compared with other online communities. Sared : Who were some of the first people you met when you came here? Bubu : I clearly remember Aeth S'kray. We used to compete in comment counts  . There were of course DJ and Doobie, who were revered by all as "the big bosses". I also remember Avalon being there a lot. He taught me a lot in my first days. I also remember a lot of the old trainers: Aayla Secura, Datheus, and the rest of them. JAT turnover wasn't as high back then as it is today so we got to know each other pretty well. Sared : Who will be someone you will always remember from your time here? Bubu : Besides my Padawans? Well there are a LOT of people I will never forget. But one in particular who taught me most of what I know I will always remember: Huxley. That guy will always get heaps of respect and gratitude from me. Sared : Are there any special moments about your time here that you would like to share with us? Bubu : Yes. My JAK trial. I remember being one of the last guys to take the old JAK trial. My master, Ulic Belouve, prepared me well for it. But I was so nervous I screwed everything up and I was sure to fail. They passed me. I can tell you I was very relieved .Sared : Speaking of which, tell us about youre relationships as a Padawan and later, as a Master. Bubu : Ah. Well, I had a rather special relationship with my master. Ulic Belouve was known back then to be very Jedi-like in nature. Not much was known of his skill in the game but he was deemed a really great guy. When I asked him to take me under his wing, he seemed to me a bit reluctant because I think he didn't want to "screw me up". Turns out he did an awesome job of it. He taught me a lot more than just gaming skills. He taught me what it meant to be a true Jedi. When I later took on my own Padawans, his teachings were very helpful and I like to think that I did my best in passing on what I knew to you guys. And a little tip to those who are looking for a master/padawan: get to know the person first. Being friends, getting along, is the first step in a healthy master-padawan relationship. Of course it helps if the time zones are compatible. Sared : So where is your life taking you in this stage of the game? Bubu : My life is taking me towards a college degree at the moment. Right now I'm packing my bags to go see the family in Israel for a few weeks. After that it's back to the studying. In terms of my "online life", well, the truth is I don't know. I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy 11 lately and I'd like to get into that more when I get back from my vacation. Bubu : I'm majoring in computer engineering. In case you're wondering what exactly that entails, if there's pure hardware and pure software, this is somewhere in the middle. So I do some electronics, circuit design, and also some programming and so on. It's a lot of fun. We'll see where that will take me. Sared : What words of wisdom would you pass along to someone reading this? Bubu : Words of wisdom... well... Just remember that work is punishment for failing to procrastinate effectively and you should be fine. Just kidding of course. Follow your heart, listen to your brain, and don't forget to brush your teeth. Oh and never wear socks under your sandals... I hate that Sared : I am afraid that I cannot continue this interview in my right mind without bringing this up. The origin, and continuation, of m00, and its uprising rivalry with derp. /me brings forth a soap box Bubu : *stands on the soap box* I was afraid this would come up. The truth is, nobody can be sure where the m00 originated. Anyone can easily claim to be its founder. The m00 is more than just a sound cows make. It's an ideal, a philosophy, a way of life. One of the greatest misconceptions about the m00 is that its followers worship cows. This is completely false. We do not worship cows. We worship the m00. The cows worship it too. Maeh, derp, and all the other so-called religions that popped up along with the m00 will never understand what it's all about. It is only after accepting the all-encompassing nature of the m00 that one can truly understand its full meaning. I welcome you all to try. But only the truly enlightened ones among you will grasp its real significance. The m00 cannot die. Sared : Any final shout-outs or goodbyes that you wanna toss out? Bubu : Yeah. A shout-out to my fellow Belouves. You guys rock! Belouve on! I'm not saying goodbye to anyone because I'm going to try to stick around.
