This seems to be the best place I can rant, so here it goes.

For those of you who don’t already know, I am a recording artist. I have been spending as much time as possible working on my first record. My project is called alchemes-razor(I would tell you what it stands for, but it would ruin the whole point). It use to be a friend of mine and myself, but he was a flake and backed out and I eventually got tired of waiting for him to come around, so I write and play everything on my own. My record is about three quarters done with, and I have had one little worry... I don’t really know any musicians to play my music for when the time comes for me to go on tour. Music is my reason for being alive, so this is something more than just a hobby. For most people, their priorities are working and going to school. Mine are writing music and working, and a lot of people find difficulty understanding that.

The main point of this post is that I am looking for musicians. And when I say musicians, I mean someone that can actually read music, and have more than 5 years experience in any of the following instruments: guitar, bass, violin, cello, piano, percussion (this could mean anything from a drum set to mallet instruments). I am looking for people that are 100% serious about playing music, not just someone that wants to be in a band just to be cool. I am located in Fullerton CA, so if you know where that is, you should know if you are close to it or not.

If you are wondering what I like to listen to or my music experience, here it is:

Percussion for 11 years.
Guitar and Bass guitar for 6 years
Piano and keys for 8 years
Violin and cello for 3 years
Vocals for 4 years
I coached two high school drum lines for a year each, as well as taught the band how to march.

Music I listen to:
A Perfect Circle
Tool
Nine Inch Nails
Peter Gabriel
Tweaker
David Bowie
Radiohead
Vast
Tenacious D
Mozart

If for any reason you are in my area, and are interested, just go to my profile and write.

Dice: If the guitar player is so good, why is their band playing blink 182?

As for me, I've only played drums seriously for about a year now, but I've just played concert band for about 5 years

I know this doesn't help, but i have some friends who are in there band, and i believe that they have to be 4 of the most muscally talented ppl i know. None of them have ever taken formal lessons, and all but the singer is now giving lessons to other students on there insturment. The bass guitar player is one of my best friends, and can play almost anything put in front of him, if he can't play it he gets pissed off and practices for hours on end until he can play it. He can also play most things after listening to them for 10-15 minutes. the guitar player is like a god. He plays things with his guitar above his head that some ppl can't even dream of playing. they are all well rounded muscicions playing almost any genre. there band is comparable to blink-182 in type of music, and they play a few blink songs, but have i'd say close to 30 original songs.
I'd say they could help ya out, but they are only 16 or 17 years old and live in central south dakota.
just be on the look out for "no closure" up on the rise, i think they are going to be good!

eh. I have a friend who's priorities are 1. Music (piano and composing) 2. Girls, 3. School. Yes, in that order. unfortionately, both he and i (a violinist of 5 years) are in connecticut. just SLIGHTLY too far...

my friend, he's really good at the piano, and kinda good at composing. He just says he hates J.S. Bach's stuff :/ I don't know how long he's been playing. but when he comes over to my house he sometimes (red: usually) sits down at our piano and just starts playing some of his pieces, all of which sound really hard, and look it too...

Well then. Just so you know, just because I don't post often doesn't mean I don't lurk this place multiple times every day...

Add some Oscar Peterson, Victor Wooten, Jeff Golub, or someone like that in there and I'll consider it. CA, that's what, a 2-hour drive from Canada? :P

Been playing guitar for eight year technically, but I haven't picked it up in at least two. :( Can play the Bass on the fly, just cause its always been naturall. By all rights, I should be able to play piano, though I can't. My mom is a piano teacher and she has been playing for 40+ something years. Good luck mate!
