Well that and the JA generally kicks booty in general. I consider myself fortunate and lucky that I found this place. Never have I ever seen such a community where fans/crazed fans/obsessed fans and all around interested people can come together and hang out, play in a most of the time safe environment and freedom of speech about just about anything is tolerated. The reason why other places like "Sith Academys" never come to fluision is because here we have dedicated people who have a mission...to provide us a great place on the net. _______________ Look unto me for I possess the blue flag!! I think he is actually reffering to a mock community trying to mimick us. There have been several different sith academies online. Most are clans but a few have actually been started by former members in a attempt to copy us. They think "Hey this is the JEDI academy so I'll start the SITH academy! We can be all evil and stuff!" There are many reasons why these attempts have only met lukewarm results (if they met results at all). These sith academies try to copy the SW theme and only have one master and one apprentice so right off the bat it kinda screw jobs all the other members that try to join. One main reason why most of these bizzaro verions of our community never work is because the people who start them just don't get it. They take the name of this site way too literally. The term Jedi is applied generically when reffering to this site. We teach people how to play the games and have fun, not how to follow the codes of the Jedi council. Sure one could pick up on many life lessons while being a member here but thats all on an individual level. These attempts at a sith academy have never been able to capture the community aspect of our own academy. I dont know if there was or is a sith academy...but uhm...in the SW universe was it like this: Long long time ago...even before KOTOR´s story started...were only Jedis and only the force (no dark or light side) and there were 2 phases of Jedi Training.The first one was controlling the force by mind and the second one was controlling the force by emotions and feelings.. The second phase was pretty dangerous tho.. Many students died in unfortunate accidents...so the republic senate and the jedi council decided that controlling the force by feelings is illegal and everyone who practices it, is on the "darkside" and has to be eliminated... Many powerful Jedi Masters didnt agreed with that and got banished...they found a planet in the outer rims which was the homeworld of an alien race called sith (korriban?) ...they made the sith their servants and called themself "lords of the sith"... Marka Ragnos was one of those powerful Jedi Masters... And i think that iceh was right about that sword thingy... I bet the sith were first, but i dont know. Seems to me that the jedi might be a splinter cell of sith leaders that wanted to use the force and sword skills for good? (I know they at one point used swords cuz why would Ragnos have a sword in his staff if there were always lightsabers) /me shrugs _______________ It's funny how many people know they have the right to remain silent, yet never do. |
