I was thinking about the vocal chord injury thing as well. The other thing I was thinking is that a person's voice is most certainly not determined entirely by genetics. Plus, Fett's voice in Episodes IV-VI is always inside the helmet. I don't remember if Jango spoke while wearing the helmet or not. He should have asked for a big black helmet that would make him sound like James Eral Jones. Plus he spent some time living in Jabba's palace, and Jabba is probably not the only hookah-smoker Fett hung out with. Maybe he partook? Yeah and he's also a bounty hunter, and in a sci-fi fantasy galaxy. There could have been a thousand battles where he could have been injured in a way that alters his vocal chords. Or had deliberate surgery to alter them. I think the worst change they made was dubing Tamura Morison over Boba's voice. I mean come-on it's so wooden you could make a chair out of it. The original had real attitude. They could have explained that Boba changed his voice to distance himself from the clones.
