One thing people often don't realise about weapons is that you're restricted to the firing functions used by the game's weapons. i.e. you can make an awesome flamethrower model and skin, but you'll have to choose one of the game's weapon functions unless you want to make your own. Making your own weapon function, additionally, requires knowledge of Raven's effect editor as well as coding ability. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |

Depending on what type of weapon you want to make, you may not need to do much coding. If you simply want to change the way a certain gun looks, you can re-skin it, and all you need for that is a Paint program. If you want change the way a weapon looks in more specific detail, you can re-model and re-skin them, again, no coding is required for this. You can use Gmax - a model making program that is free and easy to find if you search for it on Google, and a paint program to skin it. Alot of people think Modelling is hard. It can be, depending on what you want to model, but if you want to make a weapon, then modelling is actually very easy. The only hard part is the UVW Mapping (opeining out the model so that it's flat which will enable you to paint the skin onto it). There are plenty of tutorials out there that you could use to help you. All you need to do is search for them on Google and/or ask about them on some Forums. - Virtue. _______________ Academy Architect This comment was edited by Virtue on Oct 07 2004 06:06am. |

Ok, so i have never made a model in my life, but how about this: Gmax (or any other *max I guess) to make a model Paint or GIMP (I r cheap git ) to make textures Notepad for writing code files. Actually the first place I would start is by looking at a tutorial. They would probably answer this question in one of those. See the permied thread at the top of the forum. _______________ A wizard did it. |

There isn't a specific program for this, but there is a program to make models. As Steinin said, weapons are models, which also need to be skinned, and skins require code. |

There exists no single program for that purpose. To create a weapon you need to model, texture and code. _______________ 362 Ohi on! |
