STAR WARS GAMERS, please DON'T UPDATE YOUR OS!!!

I swear in name of the Force I will deactivate Windows update. If you're a Star Wars gamer, then you should have some of the old titles like Dark Forces, which could still be played in Windows XP... until now. I've recently discovered an incompatibility which did not exist, so I am almost certain it was caused by a Windows update. Now I can't play any game related to MS-DOS, even if they used to run under Windows 95. I think I will save my 100 MB of Star Wars pictures and some other useful data and reinstall the OS. If you really enjoy the old games and haven't yet updated your Windows version, don't do it! You'll regret it!! And remember to create a "Restoration Point" every time you buy a new computer or reinstall Windows, as this could have easily solved my problem.

Once I heard about something called "real life". I tried to find out what that was and I discovered that it is a place where you can use Force powers without draining your Force pool!! | laming NPCs is good for your soul

:alliance:I concur. I had previously installed XP SP2 and it made both my cable modem and my Jedi Academy go nuts. Wouldnt connect hardly anything and it was just aweful. If your using XP then avoid SP2 at all costs...or untill the bugs get worked on.:alliance:

My solution is to multi-boot Windows XP and 98 SE. Or rather was. Now it's to use Cedega, same as for all my ex-Windows stuff.

EDIT: Of course, this won't work for everyone... not everyone has a 160 GB hard drive. :D

Download ScummVM, which is a Lucasarts game emulator. It can play any Lucasarts dos game under windows XP

Well, I think thats what its called...

If that doesnt work, get Dosbox instead
its practically the same.
