Unusable answering machine feature | |

Okay, so I just bought a new phone/answering machine combo, and like most of the newer ones it has the feature where you can call it from another phone to get your messages, change the outgoing message, and so on. According to the instruction book, one of the commands you can do remotely is to turn the answering machine on or off. This struck me as a little odd because if the answering machine is off, how can I call it to turn it on remotely? I tested this to see if it works, calling it from my cell phone. Sure enough I was able to turn it off remotely. I called it again to turn it back on...but of course it didn't answer because, well, it wasn't on. I used to have an answering machine which would turn itself on automatically if you called and let it ring 15 times. Then after that it would answer any call after only 2 rings. ![]() _______________ make install -not war This comment was edited by Bubu on Nov 07 2004 07:20am. |
