Clickeh classic! But if we read on one more verse we read: 37) But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Key word here being But. Now I don't want to turn out a whole study here on this thread, but if you read Genesis carefully, you will see that God speaks about man's days being a hundread and twenty years after the corruption. (Gen.6) Did he make this common knowledge to His people? I wouldn't want to spectulate that He did but why would He say that He said if it wasn't to us? Verse 4 speaks of [giants]or{mighty or fallen ones} being on the earth in those days. Fallen ones can be shown to be Satan and the other angels which were cast down from heaven by God and after that is when God saw the great wickedness in the earth. Not very hard to imagine with the picture of Satan tricking Eve into eating of the forbidden fruit. Now imagine tens, perhaps hundreds, maybe thousands of Satan likenesses running around convincing man to sin? Anyhow, the Bible tells us in Gen.5 that Noah was five hundred and begat his 3 sons and later in Gen.6 tells us that Noah was 600 when the flood waters hit the earth. Quite close to 120 years that God said and knowing that God is perfect in what He does, we must assume that that announcement was made a little before Noah was 500. Whether or not Noah had knowledge of that 120 year deadline, I'm not going to say that he did, but I believe that he did. In Gen.7 God tells Noah to enter the ark and that he would have 7 days before the rain. In this instance, God told His elect that He was going to destroy every living substance from off the face of the earth, He posibly told the year, and He definitly told him the day. I therefore believe that it is quite possible that the Sons of God, the true believers and elect may have that knowledge of the coming of the end as the rest of mankind blindly going about their daily living and cares. After all, God does teach us that God's Spirit indwells His believers and gives them knowledge, wisdom, guidence in truth, and He will show them things to come. John 16:13. It's hard to say whether or not anyone at all will ever know the day and the hour but these are a couple of verse that seem to hint toward more. Oh yeah, the Earth could also be hammered by a giant meteor. This is extremely unlikely but certainly possible--not just the stuff of bad sci-fi but an ugly reality. You should be less concerned about the world ending than about your own life ending. You are far more likely to come to an "ordinary" end than to be killed by the end of the world. The sun isn't going to blow up. It lacks the size to go nova or super nova or the ability to turn black hole. What happens with stars like the sun is they'll eventually expand into red giant stars, swallowing up the inner planets including earth and possibly mars I think. It will be colder than it is now, untill it reduces down into a white dwarf star. All of this will happen unless our solar system passes through this giant space cloud in our path that they believe will shred our system to pieces. A few billion years. If it were only a few million, the sun would be pretty much at the end of its life already and would probably long since have swallowed up the Earth. Actually according to the bible...yes the world will end...no man will know the date no matter what he thinks and no matter what little code they think they find...only god knows. But if you think...the world itself will not end (wont blow up) only the way of this world will end. Meaning that things of the old such as the impure and corrupt will perish and the people of god will live in the new paradise that will be created out of the ashes of armaggeddon. As for the sun blowing up I dont think that will happen but ya never know I guess. I dont care how smart a person Is or what code they came up with they are nothing but blasphmerers who overrate their own knowledge.
