/me slaps Bail for mentioning Fraps

Fraps is a VERY bad program, it has horrendeous compression, options, and it's just pure nasty...

PS: Note that with the /g_sync 1, /record name, /g_sync 0 method you might only be able to make a single demo per game, you risc getting disconnected. If you, however, use a script, the only risc you're taking, is that it WILL overwrite old demoes when you reload it, or if you use all 20 demoes. So make sure to rename those demoes you wanna keep.

1) Use a demoscript, like this.

2) When you've recorded the demos you wanna use, view the demo, and use the command /cl_avidemo X (X should perferrably be 30, as most movies run with that). You'll now get a heck of a lot of screenshots in your folder.

3) Assemble those in something like Quake Video Maker, export.

4) Compress (perhaps with Virtualdub, pretty good program) to a good codec, and that's pretty much it.

If you wanna do some more advanced editting and effects, try using a real editting program like Adobe Premier or Vegas.. I still recommend QVM for assembling screenies, though.

If you want some camera spins and all that stuff, just tell me, I have a few scripts for it.

for recording images in the game:

type:
/g_synchro 1
then:
/record

the demo will start recording

when you want it to stop, just type:
/stop

Then go to your main menu, and type: cl_avidemo 30 to put the demo into small screenshots (30 per second, in this case).
Then play the demo, and you'll see it goes quite slow. That's because the demo is being transferred into images, which takes sometime.

After this, you should use Fraps, a program to put those pictures togetehr

but I'm not very sure how that works, I never used it :P
