:alliance:Hi, I'm having problems with pop up ads. NOT the messenger ads associated with Windows XP but ads that pop up through Internet Explorer...I'm running Yahoo Toolbar with popup blocker but theyre still getting through and I have it up to date. This is seriously getting on my nerves and its popping up crap anywhere from online poker to ads talking about "There might be spyware on your computer you better click here now!" and all that crap. What in the heck is going on!? I ran spyware checks on 3 different softwares and nothing is detected!:alliance:

Has anybody thought of tracking down the authors of some spyware programs and just beating them within an inch of their lives? A few well-publicized such incidents could really do a lot of good. ;)

Or just reformat your hard drive (delete everything on it) and start over! :D

Get Firefox, Mozilla, or Opera. All have built in pop-up blockers that work better than anything I've tried. :)

All of the above, and add spyware blaster to prevent the spyware from reinstalling.

Also get Ad-aware, located here. Spybot and Ad-aware picks up where the other one leaves things behind.

Go here. http://www.panicware.com.

Free, and works excellent. You there are no adds, and it never asks you to register. And it has probably blocked 99% of my adds, and I used to get a lot.

I recommend Linux. But if you won't go that far, try using Mozilla as your browser.
