Well.. spreading unlicensed anime IS violation of intellectual property rights, you could believe me on that.. Jap. companies more or less tolerate fansubs, but that doesnt mean its legal.. Well, bittorrent is a downloading application, like an HTTP. It all depends on what you want to download, but many things (such as un-liscened) anime, are legal. It is just a possible copyright infraction. Generally speaking there will not be any discussions regarding Torrent, kazaa, direct connect or any other software used for software distrubution. The occurance of piracy there isn't total but it is a worrying factor. I use BitTorrent extensively for legal purposes. Linux, Radiant, many things besides have torrents available for far faster downloads than just regular Web serving. http://www.torrentsearch.us/ is an awesome place to find all sorts of torrents, legal and otherwise - and it's henceforth not my responsibility if you choose to abuse it. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |

Well, like I said when this thread first started, we should just let it go. Sure Solitude, everyone has been very careful not to directly mention anything warez related. But I've seen a handful of threads like this one go bad, someone who doesn't know any better always brings it up. And although Bit Torrent may not seem to be related to warez, it is. Just the same as Kazaa, Morpheus, Edonkey, and just about every other filesharing program out there. Most of these were made specifially for distributing warez at faster speeds. This isn't open to debate. You can argue that you own a car...But you don't drive it..You just use it to power your house. While it may be possible..It is not probible. By definition we stay clear from anything involving or surronding warez. Not to sound argumentative, but wouldn't that be essentially the same as saying that MP3s shouldn't be discussed, because they can lead to pirating music? I agree that the connotations of this thread are leaning towards out-of-bounds topics, but a torrent file in general really is just a means of distrobution for any type of media, whether it be linux installations or pirated software.
