I think Gradius would be a perfect name for the bear ![]() Nah, I don't really have any suggestions for that one. Personally, I think you should pick it out yourself. Think of something that she can connect to, something that goes with her personality. Maybe even the name of an old pet she used to have. Somthing along those lines. _______________ - Proud padawan of Kueller. - We really are at the beginning of it all. A couple quick thoughts... Loved the dancing lessons idea. Very romantic, and wholesome. And if you break up, years later she'll still know how to dance and think of you when she's dancing with someone else. ![]() If you're thinking of giving her any kind of a book, think again. That falls under the category of what my dad called an "assignment gift," something that looks like a gift but is really giving someone an assignment. Unless it's a really short book, of course. She's deeply religious? Consider something of religious significance, if you are also religious. Bake her a cherry pie. I mean bake it yourself, from scratch, not from a mix. Get a copy of the Fannie Farmer Cookbook, and make the crust yourself too, don't buy a pre-made crust. Invite her over and present it to her just as it's coming out of the oven. By the way, this one will always go over well...even if you marry her, twenty years and a thousand cherry pies later, she'll still be delighted every time you present her with one. Trust me on this one. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

Um anyone can go to bath and body works, save that for when your 45 been married forever and you have pretty much gotten your wife anything should could really want. Try something like this: Banana Republic: Cashmere socks, all girls love cashmere its soft its warm, its pretty. Her reaction: Its not a sweater, scarf, hat, and its cashmere!!!! Let me try these and only these on for you. Ok probably not, but still a good semi-original gift. 2.) A serious night on the town. On a high school budget try something like this at a really fancey resturant, get two big salads as appatizers, split a fancey main dish, and then split a desert. Face it in high school, $50 for dinner usually means its prom night., she will love being able to get dressed up when its not. Bonus points: If your parents have a luxery car, buy one of your buddies used game at GameStop to drive you there. Then you can sit in the back seat together. 3.) Photo Album with a mushy paragraph, that you have your mom/sister/friend who is girl (just not you cause all guys write about a good as they did when they were 4, on the other hands those girls can make pretty and ledgable letters) So put 2-3 photos in it and write something like this: "Looking forward to filling the rest of this up with you" 4.)Low on cash (most of us not a problem) get here literally anything, but make her work for it. Organize a scavanger hunt, at the end, you holding her wrapped present. (Dont make this two complicated, she doesnt need to go 50 miles away to get the next hint) 5.) Dancing lessons, in Ann Arbor, MI there at a place called "Cafe Zola" they have tango lessons for 1 person to go like 6 times its $30. 6.) If you end up gettting her something from Bath and Bodyu works, throw in something really cheap that is hand-made, burn a CD of either all romantic songs, or just one of all her favorite songs. Women are not nearly as complicated as they would like you beleive. If you have been going out for a while, anything that shows you still think about her and are willing to put the time/effort into something for her will make her light up brighter than your christmas tree. _______________ Silent Bob (Kevin Smith): You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. EDIBLE PANTIES!! ok seriously, girl like gifts that show alil thought, u know what she likes better than anyone, but something that worked for me is at my mall theres a place that does engravings, for example theres candle holders, plates all types of stuff, i got her an engraved candle holder wit her name on it then got her a candle to go wit it. It *cough* paid off *cough* and it only cost me like 20-30 for the candle holder and like 10 for the candle. Personalization gets u big time brownie points, not to meantion her moms loves it 2. _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. Well here's another far out idea. If she's into music then get her a couple cds or possibly some dvds. If you wanna get fancy then get her a boxset of somesort. hmmm, well time to do some constructive snooping on your part. 1. approach her folks - they are unlikley to tell her. 2. Time to start noticing what she likes to wear/ read/ do - add to any collections she has ... esp if she has something missing from a set. Give us some more info here ... what does she have, do, read, hobbies, collect, wear. Is she into jewlery - stupid craze here in NZ is make your own bead jewlery (usually done in a shop) - does she wear something that you can make to compliment what she already has? more questions than answers, but they may just lead you to the answer you seek. LMAO Ash. Well Dicemaster, if you're serious about this girl and want a serious relationship with her, you gotta make the pilgrimage out of town. Or do what Ash said, turn to the "interweb" aka internet. Tons of online stuff, but whatever you do, don't type the words women and romance in a search engine. haha some great ideas, but the problem is i don't have a bath and bodie works in my town (in a town one hour west of here) also sure don't have "bear shop" although in that same town west of where i live they have a custom teddy bear shop, i would love to be able to make it to sioux falls and make a bear for her and a gift basket from bath and body works, but i don't know if i will get a chance. (luckily she is going out of town the day xmas break starts, and coming back a day or two after xmas, and i am going to that town for sure the day after xmas....so maybe i can get lucky) -Dice _______________ Dicemaster |

like Gradius said, scented candles and oils are great. Over here, we have this place called the Bear Shop... original name, huh? They make custom-made teddies. I got my now-ex-girlfriend one last Christmas, and she loved it. Maybe you should see if they have anything similar your way? Hope i've inspired you somehow.. ![]() |

Don't know how much this is gonna help but here's what I do when the girl doesn't drop any hints. I usually just hop on into Bath and Body Works and pick up a gift basket (cranberry is good one during x-mas and cucumber melon is always a sure bet). Then I'll get some flowers (vase is optional) and maybe some inexpensive jewelry (braclets work well for an early relationship, ear rings are good also. but a ring stands for full on commitment so I would avoid that). Then maybe a box of candy, a card and possibly a stuffed animal of sorts. Bam, you got your self a little gift set that's affordable and not too abrasive. Shouldn't be more then $20-$50. If you spend more then that, then you've done something wrong. This can work for any occasion too. First dates, Valentines, anniversarys, etc. Just be sure to not use it more then once on the same girl or else they will figure out that your a cheapo ![]() _______________ "We keep odd hours...." ----------------------- They Live, We Sleep This comment was edited by Ash on Dec 02 2004 11:57pm. |
