Aw, well, where should I start this?

I've joined the Academy about, 3 or 4 months ago, when a friend of mine pointed me to the site. Of course, the only thing I wanted (as any newcomer here, I guess) was to become a JAK, and this obviously, in the shortest time period possible. As , again, most if not all newcomers do, I craved for a master, seeing in the Padawan rank merely the first step to achieve knighthood.
I do not know, nor do I believe I ever will, why did a certain JAK (Yes, that is you wolfy), who had just passed the trials, take me under his wing. Perhaps he just pitied this hopeless newb who waved around his staffsaber like a drunken monkey with a stick. :D

Since then, it's been a long and repeated succession of back and forth's, in what someone in these forums described as the "boomerang movement". For lack of interest, of time, or due to technical problems, I was constantly away, and more than once seriously considered retiring.
Yet every single time I was about to, I gave it one last go, I went just one more time on the servers to say goodbye without all the drama of a 30-pages long speech (looks who's talking about speeches.. The irony :P), and everytime I just told to myself after just a few minutes: "No way. How could I have been so blind? I can't leave this place"

Despite all these things, and my generally introspective (Sorry, I can't resist using fancy words, even if there's a 50% chance I'll warp the spelling) nature, which leads me to not post very often, my post count slowly rised, and is as I write these words of 299.
Of course, I had to ask myself which person I would give my 300th comment to. Which is the one person who made this community such an experience for me? Is there anyone who in my judgement, deserves it more than another one?
After carefully thinking it up, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot decide, and at the same time that I can.
YOU, you who are reading this message, you are one of these people who helped make this community what it now is. It does not matter if I have never met you. It does not matter if you wear the JAS, JAP, JAK, JAT, JAM or JAC tags.
You, as well as everyone in this community, are one of the people I want to thank, for making this place what it is now:
A school, yes, and at the same time way more than that. A place where you are respected for what you are, and for the simple fact you are, rather than for the way you play. A place where having a good time is by far more valued than your frag count. A place, finally, where everyone is welcome, and feels truly at home.

For this reason, and for everything this place has taught me about tolerance and friendship, I want to return everyone the favor. I promise to hereby on do my very best to take a more active role at the Academy. I even promise to get on TS every once in a while (That is, if you folks feel like enduring my shamefully bad French accent :D) and do wathever it takes to, one day, be able to tell myself I met every single one of you.

But anyway, enough blabber and ranting. This 300th comment is dedicated to each and every single one of you sexy mofo's! Take it while it's still warm! :D

Bravo man, bravo. See guys, THIS is what the JA is all about. Not rank, skill, or popularity. But being part of such a great community based on respect for your fellow gamers, and having the ability to recognize what is being done here, and being able to appreciate it. Great post Mace. :)
