Could someone contact me with info on what exactly is required for a dedicated Academy server (like home) and what it takes to run one. Well, the JA doesn't really have the funds nor the priority right now to purchase a server down under. If we were going to put $ into a new gaming server, we would do it at a location that would benefit the most # of people. The only other option is to get a donation. If you Australian types really want a server, I recommend you head in this direction. Note that it probably wouldn't need to be a 32 client beast. Only just saw this. I assume you mean JA as in the community, not the game.  There are some jk3 game servers in aus, but not very many, and they each have their ... quirks ... yes, Dane knows what I'm talking about here. The Jedi Academy getting a server in Australia? Yeh that would be great, but look at the cost versus the impact. The number of active (ie play on the servers regularly) members that are from down under is not that high, and to set up a server would require in excess of ~$100 a month. Our best bet would be if someone donated one, but I just don't see that happening anytime soon. It's just not a popular game over here. _______________ A wizard did it. |
