Hi ya everyone. This is my first post in the general forum, so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. (Move if needed please). As the title says, I have a keyboard problem that I have neither the knowledge nor skills to correct. Basically it's a movement thing (which I need practice on I know  ) My key setup is this. Forward=W, Backpedal=S, Left=A, Right=D, Jump=<space>, Crouch=C. I have always run set and use <shift> to walk. I can walk/run in all directions, but when I try to crouch or roll I CANNOT go forward/left (keys W A C, running or walking. I move in that direction but I don't crouch/roll. This happens when walking too, on BOTH <shift> keys. I've tried another keyboard, and it too does the same thing. I have the lastest drivers for my keyboard, and I've even tried rolling back the drivers to see if that was the problem. Oh one more thing. The pc BEEPS at me when I try to move forward/left/crouch. If anyone has any ideas as to what I can try next, I would appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. _______________ Geriatric single User, with a touch of Staff now and again. Thanks for your comments. I've now reset all the relevent keys, and practiced my movements tonight. Much improved, and I can do all the things I've learned so far. Much appreciated all. Bit of a bummer about the way keyboards work, but then we can't have it too easy I spose _______________ Geriatric single User, with a touch of Staff now and again. It sounds to me as a hardware error... I had the same after buying a new keyboard... Only way to get past it is to shift your config up to the right a bit... Keyboards work in rows, for example: w s x this is a row, and a keyboard (at least the newer ones) can only accept one input at a time per row I hope this have helped a bit Or buy a cheap $5 keyboard at your local PC-exploiter  , they tend to work really well without all those extra functions like media play buttons and all that other stuff you never use.. _______________ Get on your feet and do the Funky Alfonzo! Different keyboards have a different maximum amount of keys you can press at a time. If you are pressing too many keys at once, it will beep until you let go. |

if u press 3 keys at the same time u keyboard goes like WHOAAAAAA stop plz heh, i used to use mouse 2 as walk cos i didnt use specials or anything like that too much. the problem is i think your pressing to many keys at the same time. i could be wrong _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are
