It's that time of day again, where someone finds yet another hole in Windows... </bias> Anyway, there's a cute little thing going around that infects people's MSNs (not sure how or which part yet) and sends itself along. It spreads as PIFs with filenames like drunk_lol.pif, naked_party.pif, etc etc ad nauseam. In general, don't accept anything from people who don't tell you what it is for the next while. From viewing the virus in Notepad (  ), I have determined that it's a Windows executable rather than a proper PIF (the MZ-signature and the "Cannot run in DOS mode" string being two major hints). Also it seems to contain symbols for a number of Visual Basic functions. I don't have a Linux ( -> wine/cedega) install going right now, so I can't safely run it, so if anyone has a Wine they don't mind segfaulting, a Windows install they don't mind breaking, or a Visual Basic reverse compiler, please let me know in the next day or so.Enjoy.  _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. |
