ok, I've decided that i sit at the computer and do basically nothing way to much. I'd like to make a website to display my pictures to my friends and generally just make stuff. Part of this is actually making it. I only have frontpage 2000, but i basically know how to use it. my questions are this
1) is there any free webspace where i could put this website, have room for my pictures
2) also, is it possible to add a small forum type space where my friends could make comments.
i really don't want to go to one of those sites with a completely built site, i'd kinda like to do it myself
thanks for the help guys

P.S. i'll send you all a link when its done;)
if you could send any info you have to icedice34@gmail.com that would be great, but i will be checking here, thanks again

Rather than a forum thing, I think what you're looking for might be a guestbook. There's tons of free guestbooks around, and most of them host whatever's posted on their own servers, so all you need is a link.

alrighte, building a forum isnt really easy, you know. (wink wink DJ) but check out freshmeat.net or sf.net for forum source-codes. there are a few forums around that dont actually require a DB. i remember fusionphp or sumwhat, which was kinda cool. I used that for a site some time ago, and heavily modded my sourcecode.
you should be able to find a PHP enabled webspace somewhere.

so turns out, frontpage has a feedback setting built in. Its not a true forum, but really i just wanted a space for ppl to be able to leave information, although i still might mess with the forum features

As the first point is solved, I will give my advise about the 2d one. If I was you I will forget to do it myself. This because you will need to design a database which will contains at least login informations and posts (flat files or XML are possible too). Then you will have to manage database entries writing.

I will propably browse the web for a while to find the simpliest free available forum. And then will modify its look to feat what I'm wishing to have.

Good luck with it :)

not to mention bravenet and freewebs. AS far as forums go, try invisionfree:

sure there is !
geocities, tripod, just to name the most popular ones.

theres tons and tons of them. few have real frontpage support. so u will need an FTP client to upload the stuff, prolly.
all you need is a valid email account to sign one up.

If I were you I would go find an "forum-in-box" and view the source, or find an online tutorial on how to create one. That way you have something for when you get stuck. Im not saying you cant post problems here but, it could take a while to get answers here.

I have a few decent one on my home PC, ill post them when I get home.
