They're small, but a powerful gun can leave a pretty big mark. The thing I prefer about airsoft is that every shot is consistant. I mean, with a paintball gun, the accuracy and pressure of the shot varies. Due to airsoft guns operating like "real steal" guns, they have more consistant firing rates, accuracies, shot velocity, etc. Besides... airsoft guns just look AWESOME. I use a Marushin K98k maxi rifle. It's a replica of a German world war 2 rifle, and you actually load the bb/paint pellets into bullet cassings. When you fire a shot, and operate the bolt mechanism, the cassing pops out, just like a real rifle. It's AWESOME.  What kind of games do you guys do? I haven't played airsoft for a while, but we did a game of retrieval in a huge woodland area just outside of Edinburgh. It was great fun, and I got shot to hell at the end of the game. |

The closest to playing paintball I've ever come to is being hired to be a ref, setting up and oiling the guns, smelling the paint from those paintballs, getting a terrible headache from it, ending up not ref'ing, and helping them clean and oil the guns up at the end of the day. Looks like loads of fun, but I'm not sure if it was the smell of the paint or not that caused that terrible migrain. I play airsoft from time to time. It's more realistic, but paintball is still fun. |

someone i know picked up his fragged mates paintball gun, and his own, and went rampageing around the field.
