Hey I'm not criticising the fact that an election took place, maybe it was a little rushed but it is a step in the right direction. Mine was purely a cynical comment about our leaders who have been very eager to call Iraq free for their own election purposes, declaring 'mission accomplished' and all that stuff. _______________ |JAA| since 02/05/06 Green for life |

Images of blood at the polling station? I didn't see too many and the number of dead was only around 30 people. No deaths would of course been good but considering the insurgents and terrorists promised to kill every single person in the lines, 30 people is a good job done by the Iraqi police and military and the U.S. and U.K. military. I just loved the democrats already looking for ways to make it negative, John Kerry called it "sort of legitimate." _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. I agree with you, it does demonstrate their courage. My point was the images of blood at the polling station whilst it shows how great the spirit of the people is, it doesn't really do much good for the 'free' iraq we are supposed to believe exists now. Anyway, I dont wanna get involved int his stuff and insult people, getting off topic. Again, RIP to those marines and all the innocent casualties of this war. _______________ |JAA| since 02/05/06 Green for life |

Well I didn't read much about Iraqis voting in exile, but it was mentioned. I do think Iraqis voting in Iraq makes a powerful image: They're voting even knowing that they endanger their lives by doing so. They care that much about the democracy that so many said they didn't really care about. One polling station actually was hit by a suicide bomber...and subsequently opened up again! That's resiliance. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

Same in the UK I thought, the polling stations in the UK made a lot better pictures than the people being blown to peices in Baghdad. I really admire the Iraqis who went to the polling stations in Iraq, that must have taken real courage and resilience. _______________ |JAA| since 02/05/06 Green for life |

Hmm, I think the "Iraqis in exile voting" thing was actually the most covered thing here... lots of happy people by the voting offices. |

Quote: Did ya'll miss the part where Iraq voted for their new government only yesterday? That fact is not lost on me, and I'm sure it is not lost on the Islamofascists trying to crush the fledgling democracy. Something not as well covered in the media is that Iraqis living in exile in other countries got to vote as well. Most interesting to me: About 30% of the Iraqis living in Syria turned out to vote. Recall that Syria is an Islamic dictatorship, whish means that the average Syrian, who is not allowed to vote or have any say in his government, got to watch the foreigner living down the street vote and have a say in his own government. _______________ My signature is only one line. RIP to the brave soldiers who die every week in Iraq, and to the civilians. I hope one day for their sakes that this is all worth it. _______________ |JAA| since 02/05/06 Green for life |

Yeah, its amazing. millions turned out to vote even if it ment risking their lives. Funny how over there, people risk their lives to vote while over here in the U.S. half of America didn't vote. _______________ Free Tibet! Click this link, and learn Here too |

Quote: JJ, If it seemed if I turned the deaths of these brave individuals into something against the president in the last line im sorry. I was only frustrated because at the Inagguaral of his second term he said that. The people I respect and support most in this world are the people who risked their lives in a war to defend their country. The President could've but he chose not to. I apologize again for my frustration at my goverment. It's a terrible tragedy and it's very sad, and I hope we leave soon What's happening in Iraq is terrible, but Bush is not to blame. Stop centralizing everything that goes bad on Bush. He could not have stopped 9/11, he started a war because over 60% of America found this step to be just, and he did what was necessary for your safety. Be thankful, instead of bashing his every move. I'm not saying he's the best president ever, there have been better, but he is not doing a bad job, contrary to public belief. Oh, and about "leaving soon", I think it'll be a really bad mistake if we leave now. We'll leave a country in shatters, without taking the time to rebuild it. As soon as we leave, terrorists (Al Quaeda, Taliban, you name it) will just take over again, and all we have done will be in vain. Make no mistake, the people from Iraq are glad to be rid of Saddam, it's the terrorists that aren't happy with the way everything is turning, and thus try to finish us off like that. We can't leave now, not after all that has happened. We'll see this through to the end. It's the least we can do to help the middle-east against oppression. _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! I'm not sure if you pay attention to history, but during the American Revolutionary War 10,000 American soldiers were killed. War of 1812, 6,765 casualties. Mexican War, 17,435 casualties. American Civil War, 970,227 casualties (both sides). Spanish-American War, 4,108. World War I, 320,710 casualties! World War II, 1,078,162 casualties!! Korean War, 136,935 casualties. Vietnam 211,471 casualties. And these are only AMERICAN casualties. Now, lets look at the numbers of Iraqi's killed by Saddam and his cronies! 2 million!! (according to George Valko from BG News) So, lets see... 1,418 compared to, 2,000,000... I'd take the 1,418. Not to sound distasteful or anything. Infact, I plan on enlisting in the United States Army next winter. And I'm joining the front lines. So you take you're negative GWB propoganda, and shove it right up you're ass, cause it's not good for anything but wipin' it... Oh, and just for fun... Quote: The Flag of Democracy sure has been planted, hasn't it Mr. President? Although this is a terrible tragedy, one of many that has faced the men and women of the armed forces in Iraq, and in other operations, I just have to ask Plo one thing. How dare you try to turn the deaths of people into something against the American President? How could he have been responsible? He wasn't piloting that helicopter. It could have happened under any other person, serving any other country. You have alot of nerve and a complete lack of compassion to twist this around into something you can use in your little biased, unfounded attempts to insult George W. Bush. Any respect I had for you is now gone. It's nothing short of terrible that these men lost their lives in such circumstances. The best thing that people like us can do is support the armed forces personnel in Iraq, and hope for an end to the occupation soon. |
