No, I don't mind being on multiple networks, I mind being on multiple networks for the sake of a single channel.

Alright, then so be it. They're boring, but have less net splits and such. You have something wrong with being on two different networks at a time, so I'm not gonna debate about that.

DISMISSED!

Which again brings me to my point, small networks are boring networks.

I know this is in the Crazy Forum, but in all seriousness, I think we should move to a more stable, less-crowded network, which would surely prevent 9 times the amount of spam we get when we connect and cut down the huge amount of net splits we get per week. :D

There's always been lots of net splits since I've been visiting it, more than some other networks...

Oh, and Jacen, what I meant by 'Still, I can see how there's something about QuakeNet that you just <3, but what?!', was that there's also something that makes me wanna stay.

That's news to me!

Yes, you get people sending you Private Messages containing pr0n and people joining channels spamming it for no reason but to annoy everyone. :P

Anyways, I mean less people to clog the server and put down its stability. Plus, I only hang with nothing but JA'ers as it is on QuakeNet.

Also, you can connect to multiple networks at a time, so it probably wouldn't be much hassle at all. Nothing stops you from being on both QuakeNet and another network.

Still, I can see how there's something about QuakeNet that you just <3, but what?! :D

1) You practically ONLY get those spam messages when you're in a com-chan with a bot. And those bots pretty much stick to big, CS-type channels.

2) Being on two networks at a time, IS a hassle. I don't wanna make mIRC auto connect to a network on start up, nor do I wanna use /server -m all the time. Two+ network windows suck. I want my channels in alphabetic order, and they'll be separated by network if I'm on multiple.

That's why you fail to realise why I like Qnet, and despise the smaller ones...

But still, if it were a little network, there wouldn't be so many people crowding it, which would also mean hardly, if any, spammers. Plus, it's not any harder for a new student to connect to a different network, really.

Less people crowding a network = less people to talk to. I dunno about you, but the whole idea of being amongst nothing but JA'ers, and a few IRC ops, doesn't sound like Funville to me. And it's not harder to connect to a different network than Quakenet, but it could EASILY be more of a hassle - if e.g. your clan chan is on QN, and you idle in 10 channels on QN, why would you wanna go to another network, just for one community?

Seems like moving from the big city, to a little farm out in the country... you get less disturbances and more peace and quiet, but it's also ten times more boring and inconvenient in the long run... too far away from everything..

I'm sure Undernet will suck too. And no, I don't get any spam when I connect, unless I have a dash, an underscore, or some unusual char in my name. But still, if it were a little network, there wouldn't be so many people crowding it, which would also mean hardly, if any, spammers. Plus, it's not any harder for a new student to connect to a different network, really.

I personally don't mind staying on QuakeNet though, I was just suggesting that if you're sick of the net splits...

You get a huge amount of spam when you connect? You must be extremely popular then, because I get max 3 spam messages a day, and that's ONLY when I'm in the typical, big channels... if you're only on the JA channels, you won't have a problem, and if you're on other channels, why do you wanna switch network?

Seriously, why the heck does everybody wanna leave QuakeNet to go on some annoyingly little network, that nobody has ever heard of, and where nothing ever happens? How many new students do you think will visit our channel if it's on Undernet, compared to the amount of people we get on Q-net?

Little != good.
