WARNING: Possible spoilers if you don't know anything about Episode III, but I'm not going to say anything that shouldn't already be common knowledge. I was recently annoyed and frustrated to find that some Christians have decided not see the next Star Wars movie in an act of protest. They claimed that Lucas said Anakin would go to hell and make a pact with the devil. That the movie ends with him in hell, in the biblical sense. Being a Christian, things like this annoys me because the few ignorant fanatics make the rest of us look like morons. I tried to explain how I understand how the movie will happen, but they persisted in saying they read an article on the net that claimed Lucas himself had said these things. Lo and behold, I accidently ran across the article while looking for something else. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/10/60minutes/main679325.shtml What is written there, along with what is said in the video link provided with that article, makes it truly sound like Anakin goes to hell. If you had never read a single spoiler, it sounds very straight forward. Quotes like the following Quote: Now, in the final episode, Anakin succumbs to the dark side, and to his inevitable fate, becoming Darth Vader. "We're going to watch him make a pact with the devil," says Lucas. The climactic battle takes place on a sea of fire - lava, actually - on a planet filled with nothing but volcanos. "Do you actually take us down, in the biblical sense, into hell," asks Stahl. "Yes, the lava at the end," says Lucas. "It ends in hell." I'm going to be sick if I have to have yet another thing that I like that half the Christian world thinks is evil just because of ignorance.
