Chronicles of Jun Tao, Vol 1, Chapter 2 : The Death of Jin Tao
----------------------------------

Dragon Tao had arranged a meeting with the Sun Family and the Hitokiri Family in a secret temple location in the Shadowlands on the planet of Kashyyyk, the reason for this was to draw any attention away from the Family's secret homes. The meeting had been arranged because Dragon Tao wanted to present the leaders of the Sun and Hitokiri Family with a gift. This gift was a newly written manuscript outlining every single component of the Nabeshima Style. Previously the Sacred Style had never been recorded, only taught through speech and demonstration.

The decision to write a manuscript though was a bad one. The meeting went on for a number of hours and in this time Dragon Tao honourably presented Kaan Sun and Nima Hitokiri with the manuscript, afterwards a great banquet began. After the meeting had been concluded, Kashyyyk was attacked by Sith, the Ancient Sith Lord Noraith had been using the Force to spy on Dragon Tao, and he wanted the secrets of the Nabeshima Style....

As the three families parted and headed towards their ships, Noraith brought 3 gunships to land in the depths of the Shadowlands, the events that happened next unfolded extremely quickly, each gunship was filled with his Dark Jedi disciples….

Jun was now 16 years old and wielded a lightsaber
fluently and well enough to fight, he helped his family fight off the Dark Jedi, there were so many of them, red sabers lighting up the dark jungle as they flipped out of the gunships, landing in and jumping out trees. Sparks flew as sabers collided, Jun dodged one swing and the next, trying to feel nothing but
peace...but he felt doubt for his family Noraith's ship landed and he strolled out, short greying hair with a scarred face and menacing eyes that had a faint red tint to them. His black cape was blown by the propulsion of his gunship,
trailing behind him in the strong blast. He drew the hilt of his saber and ignited it, he made his way towards Dragon Tao, through a battlefield of flying sabers, the force creating great winds as both sides drew to the power that made them what they were. Dragon Tao put two Dark Jedi to shame and side stepped to avoid the blood, such grace with which he moved, he felt no emotion....only peace, even as Noraith stood before him, two warriors from different sides of the same spectrum.

“Dragon Tao, long have i awaited this moment. Such a poor decision it was to write that manuscript , i have been watching you for some time.” Noraith's words echoed around the battlefield, his deep voice shaking the nerves of even some of his own men.
“How foolish that you rely on deceit in order to for fill your greed for power....such weakness will destroy you. The Dark Side has too firm a grip on you.....”

“Do not judge me, you and your people are so ignorant just like the Jedi, you can never know the power of the Dark Side.” Noraith had interrupted Dragon with much spite, he stood ready for battle.

“You underestimate the way of the Nabeshima. A fatal mistake.”

Dragon Tao rushed forward, his saber clashing with Noraith's, they fought long and hard, displaying parrying, attacking and acrobatic skills that impressed everyone on the battlefield, Noraith's followers stopped to watch, as did the members of the families that had been defending against the Dark Jedi. Jun
had unfathomable faith in his father, but he felt something was not right. As the duel continued, Jun scanned the crowds of people, this battle was obviously more important than anything he had witnessed, the fate of his family was one swing of a saber away, and it could be a terrible one.

Jin Tao had been fighting off two Dark Jedi at the back of the crowd, he saw Dragon engaging Noraith and made his way up onto a rock which looked out over the battlefield. He saw one of his cousins, lying dead on the floor, as well as many Dark Jedi. For the first time he felt fear....and then something else...something that he hadn't felt in a long time.....anger. He leaped off the rock and landed next to Dragon, who ducked to avoid a swing, it was parried by Jin who then kicked Noraith in the stomach.

“Jin! What are you doing?” Dragon stepped back, surprised by his son's interference. There was no answer, rage had taken over, Noraith used the Force to push Jin back, and then grabbed Dragon by his throat, the force squeezing hard enough to stop Dragon being able to breath. Jin stood up and shouted in desperation, the fights had begun again all round them and once again it was a
mass engagement between the Families and the Dark Jedi. Noraith raised his hand, and Dragon followed, floating through the air guided by the Dark Side. His eyes became bloodshot, his face turning blue.....and then Jin ran forward, jumping into the air and spinning three hundred and sixty degrees he
performed a crescent kick which knocked Noraith to the ground. Dragon was released, and fell to his knees, he looked up in time to see Noraith flip up and take Jin's head off with the weightless searing blade of his red Lightsaber. Dragons' anguish was immense, but he was stronger than any here on the
battlefield, he stood up and ignited his saber once more....

Jun befell another Dark Jedi, leaving an extremely severe opening in his side, blood poured onto the ground and Jun felt the life leave his fallen enemy. He observed the battle once more, he saw his brother Jin, headless, and his father once more fighting, there were only around twelve Dark Jedi left
and they were now being chased through the Shadowlands back towards their gunships. He gave chase as well as the other members of the Tao and the other two families, leaping over rocks, through trees and bushes, but the gunships were ready and they departed quickly, only one remained, it flew low, back to where Jin had fallen.

A few minutes later, after returning to where he had left Dragon, Jun saw the gunship leaving, and seeing his father stood alone he concluded that Noraith had left, though he did not know why and decided not to question it. He walked over to his father.

“It is fear that manipulates those who are weak. And it is in knowledge that we gain strength.”

Dragon whispered as he knelt before the body of his slain son.
“That is why we cannot let this affect our cause, let us return home, we have much to discuss with the Nabeshima Shogunate” Jun said, placing a reassuring hand on his father, they made their way back to the Tao ship.

As the three families departed, a great disturbance shook the the very fibre of life in the Shadowlands of Kashyyyk, a figure sat on the branch of a tree, a Lightsaber hilt at his side, a face that could not be seen in the darkness...and Dragon felt it. Looking out of the window of the ship as they departed from the planet, Dragon felt a familiar darkness that surpassed that of even Noraith.

“Ramirez...."

Please does anyone know what the best program is to copy text straight onto these forums that doesnt alter the formatting other than the font?

Open office is a great program but it seems to be insistent on rearranging my text

Hmmm there are some issues in that chapter with formatting of paragraphs, probably because i used Open Office and copied straight to here instead of word :(

I'll try and rectify it manually.....

If it doesnt work i hope it makes sense, i think i've punctuated properly so that it will...
