Well i watched Episode 1 again and noticed that Qui-gon Jinn dont become one with the force when he dies, as yoda and obi-wan did. Is it because hes not a true jedi? ...Just wondering. |

If you read the books, Yoda interacts with the Ghost of Qui-Gon in the book Dark Rendezvous, at the Room of a Thousand Fountains (in the temple). As far as Episode III, I don't know, but I would guess as much, it has been rumored. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Good point Devlin this is what I thought at first. The appearance of his voice in EP2 suggests that he became one with the force on some level. He was alive for a short while after getting whacked but it was mostly spent convincing Obi Wan to train Anakin. Maybe they will mention something in EP3 to clear it up. I also thought that the whole dissapearing death thing came from a movie Frank Oz did with Jim Henson called the Dark Crystal, Which is totally awesome I would recomend it to anyone.  _______________ Honor those better than you would yourself. Um...I really don't think Qui-Gon was a Sith of any sort. As to the whole not disapearing thing when he died, I like to think of it like this. Obi-wan and Yoda were prepared for death and embraced becoming one with the force in their last moments. Qui-Gon, however, was slain by Darth Maul. I think that becoming one with the force in the way that Yoda and Obi-wan did requires some possible meditation or certain state of mind. In the heat of battle, maybe Qui-Gon was not able to achieve this. Anyway, just my two cents  _______________ Be at peace, and you will discover things you never dreamed possible. |

Maybe Qui-Gon was only a Jedi Knight because in EP1 Anakin says "You're a Jedi Knight aren't you" and Qui-Gon says "I can see there's no fooling you Anakin" implying that he called it correctly. Another note to add, Qui-Gon was lying and tricking people all through EP1 i.e. "The Queen doesn't need to know" and "I will do what I must". When Yoda says something to the effect of "very elusive is the dark side" there is a quick cut to Qui-Gon's nervous expression. He also tells Obi that there is much more he has yet to learn but before the council he adds there is little he can learn from me. In all I think he is one of the more enigmatic characters in the story. _______________ Honor those better than you would yourself. |

No you don't have to be a Master to have a Padawan. Obi-Wan took Anakin as a paddy as soon as he achieved the rank of Knight. Not true really, since Maul was sidious apprentice, and if Qui-gon Jinn was a sith he wouldnt care who it was he killed. |

I'm sorry but NO WAY! Dooku only said those things to Obi-Wan to try to manipulate the situation and Obi-Wan. As I see it Qui Gonn's loyalty was in question. During a conversation between Dooku (Qui Gonn's master!)and Obi Wan, Dooku comments,"if only Qui Gonn were here". He also mentions that there is little Obi Wan knows about the alignment of Qui Gonn's loyalty. Perhaps Qui Gonn was the one clouding the jedi's vision. Could he as well, by insisting on the training of Anakin, be making an attempt to destroy the Jedi? So I put to you... When Obi-Wan tells him "You'd already be on the Council." I think this is a good indication of his rankas Jedi Master. Also, A Jedi does not have to be a Master to be on the Jedi Council. Ki-adi Mundi Only holds the rank of Jedi Knight and he is on the Council. Also in the preview for EpIII, Mace tell Anakin "You are on this Council, but we do not grant you the rank of Master." I doubt he is, because obi wan says, if he would have listened to the rules of the council he would be in the Council. But i dont realy know, i have forgot. Also, Warning: Link may contain spoiler information! Though I didn't see anything that looked like a spoiler to me. Quote: Qui-Gon appears only in The Phantom Menace though his voice is heard in Attack of the Clones. (His voice can be heard while Yoda is meditating). George Lucas planned to have Qui-Gon appear as a Force ghost, similar to how Obi-Wan appeared in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, however Neeson broke his leg prior to filming the planned scenes and the idea was shelved. So it turns out Lucas probably wanted to show that Qui Gon was a strong Jedi Master, but the real world intervened. _______________ A wizard did it. |
