Holy crap, this game is FANTASTIC! I love it. The realism! The squad commands! The satisfaction of jumping ontop of a Panzer IV and dropping a grenade inside! :D

Who else plays, and on what format? I play on Xbox. :)

Dropping a grenade into a tank isn't as easy as it sounds. If the tank is out in the open there is no way to appraoch it without being riddled with holes from its machine gun. At least on Difficult or Authentic mode. And even if you can reach it without getting shot, good luck running away before the infantry gets ya. :P

Yes, I have to agree, BiA rocks a lot of socks!

I wrote about it in my blog:

Best WWII game I ever played. Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Return to Castle Wolfenstein have nothing on this game.

Of course, like most games, it's far from perfect. From a heavily (though seamlessly) scripted storyline, to auto-resuscitating squad mates, its flaws are clear as daylight. However, the sheer realism and immersiveness of this game lift it above all of its predecessors in the genre. It's not every day that a game makes you forget where you are, transports you to 1944 Normandy, and has you fighting for your life and that of your "brothers". They managed to combine basic action shoot-em-up aspects with squad-based strategy and tactical assault aspects pretty well. Thumbs up to Ubisoft and Gearbox for that one.

Most of the time, I ran out of grenades rather quickly. :(

Yeah, I have to admit, it's a huge jump from Call of Duty or Medal of Honor where you are essentially in the supersoldier role. In this, you're a squad sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division. Not only this, but it's realistic. If you try to be a super soldier, you die, 'nuff said. I love the visuals also, although the night scenes are sometimes a bit too bright.

You know, in CoD, i'd laugh at tanks, and one panzershrek round would usually blow it up. In BIA, I see a tank, I cry, and I run.

I lub it :jj:. It's too bad I broke Radeon 9800 Pro though... On a GeForce FX 5600 with most the cool effects off, but I'm still having a ball with it. I especially like running up to the Krauts and mowing them down with the oh so lovable .45. Starting to get sort of good with the sights. Fun fun stuff.:D

I played it on PC. I wasn't really excited by it, but I guess playing all the Medal of Honor games and all the Call of Duty games kind of jaded me to WWII shooters. It has fantastic visuals, and a more story-oriented gameplay. I found it pretty weird that the whole squad you command would be revived at the end of a mission if they were killed, but it is a video game after all. It's a solid game all-around, and probably the best WWII shooter I have played. People who've never played something like it would love it, but if you're like me and have played ten or more WWII shooters, you'd find it pretty bland.
