Aye, I think the Way Luke has his NJO set up is how Jedi were meant to be. I think a jedi needs to be tempted to use the dark side, that way if he or she resists, they are that much stronger. When you shield someone from something too much you actually weakin them to it by not letting them grow stronger from experience with it. I really love Jedi! But I don't always agree with their philosophy. They don't allow their students to fall in love and marry, they make them hold back their emotions, and teach that you should let things happen as fate decrees and not interfere. That to me is wrong. Some of their beliefs contributed to a lot of bad things happening, even though they had good intentions. I wonder if Lucas thought much about after Return of the Jedi, if Returning Jedi mentioned would follow the same principles as the old Jedi order. The republic dont exsits out in the outer rim, thats why the jedi dint do anything about it. But, if you have to complain about it, do it to qui-gon Jinn, he at least was closest and could have done it. but din't. So why do I get the feeling he wanted to let her stay.  |

I don't understand why the jedis wouldn't save Anakin's mother from slavery. It's not as if the slimy slave owner could've done anything about it. You may say that jedi cannot use violence, but I would argue that jedis are supposed to be guardians of peace and justice. Sentient beings cannot be traded as property. It was their moral duty to do something about it. If a particular species(the sand people that kidnapped anakin's mother) blatently ignores morality and leads a life style that causes tremendous pain and suffering to other sentient beings, then I feel that they only have themselves to blame for bumping into someone far more powerful and suffer his wrath. They should've thought of that when they were busing hunting weaker beings. I am not saying that I agree with Anakin wiping out that entire village of sand people, but I am just saying they had it comming to them! This comment was edited by thewind on Apr 02 2005 07:24pm. |

I noticed that you actually get to hear some of the music from EPIII in the background, personally I think the music for this movie is gonna own. Maybe it wasn't anakin's fault entirely but as he mentions "I'm changing, im not the jedi im supposed to be" he must have some idea of whats going on, so already there he should do something about it. He was warned about the life of a jedi was strict and because he is the chosen one he will make a special case. I kind of feel sorry for him, but on the other hand, He takes part in it by his own will also. |

It is his own fault, not just that but its sidsouses fault to for provoking him. Its Padames fault for marrying him when it was forbidden. Its Obi-wans fault for not teaching him right. The Jedi definately didn't show much faith in Anakin, from the start when they said he was too old to train. They wouldn't let him marry the one he loved, wouldn't let him go back to see his mother, etc. He was cocky, but I think he would have turned out fine if they didn't hold him back constantly. _______________ "You hear that, Mr. Anderson?
