I was wandering around Star Wars forums and found a "If youhad the choice, would you really choose to be a Jedi?" forum. Seen some interesting posts on both sides. So.......Would you or wouldn't you? and why. I would rather be alone than to watch those around me fall at the hands of my enemy. True I would choose to try to have a family with another Jedi. That way my children would most likely be Jedi and protect themselves. I agree with Devlin. I think the Ideas of the New Jedi Order are more for me. They are alloud to have families and taught to embrace love. I'm with devlin Is the question "If you were force sensitive would you become a jedi?" If so then I think i would, prefer to learn about the power in a controled environment than blast things to pieces just because something annoys me. Hmm it's hard to say, the idea of being a Jedi Knight is really cool. But the fact that I couldn't really have emotions etc. is a bit of a downfall :| Though I guess I'd be used to that since I'd have to have started from birth...so ya what the heck I'd be a Jedi if I could ^_^ _______________ All hail the cute bunny! |

This is a great topic that I've actually thought about before. I would love to be a jedi. They are the protectors of life, and I myself have a great love for life...to be it's protector would be an honor and give immense meaning to my existence. By nature I am a peacefull man, and while I would worry about losing my temper I would hope that a connection with the force would keep me in balance with my emotions. However, there is the downside of this ideal...and that is that as a Jedi in the time of the Republic you are not allowed physical 'attatchments' such as a family or spouse. This in itself is enough for me to question my decision on wanting to be a jedi. In the New Jedi Order books the jedi are allowed to take husbands and wives. Love is not something that they frown upon. I agree with this, I believe that being in love only makes a person want to fight harder in the name of life and peace. So if we take this perspective of the life of a jedi then my decision would certainly be yes. So, Jedi of the Republic...no. Jedi of the New Republic...yes! _______________ Be at peace, and you will discover things you never dreamed possible. |
