Most of the suspects they arrested were mentally handicapped, and confessed after severe beatings while in custody. They did actually have Andrei Chikatilo in custody, but let him go despite overwhelming evidence, because tests on semen found at one of the crime scenes didn't match his bloodtype. However, the test was proven to be inaccurate, and he was eventually caught. Them crazy Russians, eh?  |
