Whenever you make a comment or a thread, there's a grey box right under the "Add your comment" or "Make thread" buttons. It tells you what all to add in order to make links, quotes, bold text, etc. For a link, you want to use [.url=http://your.url.here]Anythingyouwanthere[/url.], without the periods at the beginning and end.
