I am expecting a new child in October and I was thinking of naming it Anakin if its a boy. I am posting this because I need input if it is a girl and if there are any other kick azz names my fellow JA members can think of   MAY 20 My wife and I found out we are having a boy. I don't know...It sounds good, but so does Jacen. Just do as the others said, Consider naming him Anakin throughout.  Girl name? I always wanted my child to be named Emma if it was a girl. But then again, not everyone has same taste for names. |

Hmm Anakin is a good name but I'd definatly give him at least two names so that if your son decides later he doesn't want to go by Anakin he has another name to use But in terms of girl names...I'd have to suggest a baby names book or something cause I'm terrible at thinking of names (I feel sorry for myself when I get pregnant ^_^) _______________ All hail the cute bunny! |

No I don't want the child beat up in the locker room . Yes I like the Star wars connection but I was also fond of the name (so is the wife) At present she is thinking of Tristen for a boy or Alexander()iddle name is james no matter what. So I figured I would try mey luck at Anakin(My name is Jason and I am not a fan of the JR thing)I know it is an obvious connection but at least its not Ki-Adi Mundi _______________ I have seen EP3 now I can die happy and complete. To be honest, I don't think I would be to happy with such a name (as Anakin), or at least, not if it was my only name. Multiple names would actually be a good idea. :p However, it is your (and your wife's / g/f's) decision. Anyway: congratulations! dont listen to babling fools,(no offense to anyone else here). This is a very serious situation and you have a while to think about it. But take my advice, Whatever you give that child will stay with him for the rest of his life (duh!) and think about it thouroughly. You dont want a name that will make fun of him or mock anything. Anikan is a cool name and i would suggest it. but then again im the guy who would name my kid a cuss word..lol. no seriously i would name my kid something cool, like Jacen or Ben, or perhaps Douglas Jonathan Payne, or even Richard Benjamin Payne.(my uncles are Jonathan Gregary Payne, and Benjamin Payne. My grandfathers name is Richard Jo Payne, and his father is Douglas William Payne.) so name the child that brings meaning and really says "I love you" _______________ The Force is my ally, and a powerful ally it is. I agree. Really, I would reconsider that name as your child would be picked on alot. However, if you really want to have some Star Wars connection (not much though), maybe you could name it after actors or George? No! Do you know what kids whose parents give them "novelty names" go through growing up? In the past few years, a bunch of people have had their names legally changed to Obi Wan Kenobi, but they were adults who knew what they were getting into.
