So, what is the power source that Qui-Gon gives Anakin for his Podracer? I had theorized that it was the battery from his lightsaber (it could certainly give off enough power), but I watched Episode I again last night (leading up to III  ), and it looked too big to be a saber battery. well in the book, Qui gon took a power source from wattos shop.he thought that watto probably didnt need it. |

Well givin that Anakin build his racer over a period of years, he most likely had a beat up/used power supple. it probably wasn't that easy to get ahold of things being on a back-water planet and being a slave.
