When I first read the review, I had never read any of Maddox' earlier articles. Being a Star Wars fan, his review sort of ticked me off. Now I've read all of his articles, and each one has cracked me up big time! Maddox is a genius IMO.  _______________ In the navy and LOVING it!

This post should die... If you hate the new Star Wars, so be it. Madox is not a SW fan, and even if it were, it is not for his image on the site to say so. He's building a reputation for ripping anything and everything (it works you know). It's just an image. Reviews to me are useless and insulting to me as a person. I am quite able to form my own opinion about anything, especially a work of literature. Granted there's so much out there sometimes its good to be pointed in the right direction, and at times pointed away from stuff. This however should be done by someone who is qualified to comment on film and literature, and not working to an agenda to criticise everything. I would only give him credit if he did fair reviews of everything, not just critiques. I would not recommend this to anyone. Sure when I first thought it I also agreed with many points, and my first comments were "It's good, but this and this and that were so shit". Now however after seeing it a few more times and thinking about it, most of my criticisms are nothing that could not be explained away, as much of the things in the originals were. Basically, I get a feeling from watching 4, 5, 6, and a different feeling from watching 1, 2, 3. But both feelings are good and will make me watch them again, but granted I do enjoy the originals far far more at this time, it's not enough reason for me to hate the new ones. |
