Guitars vs. Women

1) It's cool to be a guitar player.

2) Guitars don't talk. They only scream.

3) A guitar will never complain about you leaving the toilet seat up.

4) You can use a guitar to get a woman. Not vice versa.

5) All you have to do is flip a switch to turn a guitar on.

6) It's ok to have more than one guitar.

7) You can let your friends play your guitar.

8) If you break the g-string you don't have to go into a Victoria's Secret to get a new one.

9) Fathers with shotguns. 'Nuff said.

10) Infinite number of positions.

11) A guitar won't make you sleep on the couch.

12) Guitars get better with age.

13) You actually want to take your guitar out.

14) That whole time of the month thing.

15) You like your guitar's friends.

16) A guitar can't say no.

17) Your guitar will never ask for money.

18) Guitars fit in your trunk and under your bed.

19) You don't have to sit with your guitar and hold it when you're done.

20) It's ok to be caught with your guitar.

Of course I'd never use it to its full potential.. its the coolness and the "wall of sound in my living room" factors that make me crave it. :)

again i say that marshall stacks, or any stack for that matter, are a complete waste. they're only good if you spend another grand to get a stellar head and play live shows a lot.

Moral of the Story - Faded does not like marshall stacks.

well, these JCM900 are neat indeed.
my bands guitar player has got a JCM900, with 2 marshall boxes, but he sold/swapped them.
there's no need to be that loud ;)

I play the frankenaxe! A freind of my uncle built it from the parts of various lesser Telecasters and gave it to my uncle in lieu of some money he owed him. My uncle is a guitar collector (he has about 35 or so guitars), so he gave me the guitar. I play it on a Marshall Valvestate 65. :) I really think that guitar is all I'll ever need. When I fall into a hill of money I'd buy a Marshall JCM 800 or 900 full stack. They're neat. :D

my recommendation would be to look on ebay. that's where i got mine. since you're not crazy about sound or great playability yet, that is the place to look. my hamer was a great first guitar. i might also suggest a washburn or peavey. both are great learners.

LOL!!!

The only problem fizz, is that my piano was at my mother's house, so that move wouldn't work for me:(.

Faded-any recommendations for a 1st guitar? I'm not looking for a crazy awesome sounding guitar, just something relatively cheap to start out on, maybe in the $100-150 range.

One reason I want to learn guitar is to get some women to pay attention to me. It's tough to carry an upright piano around.:D

no one said anything about giving up women, bubu. they are a very integral part to a man's survival. no women = no men. simple. all we're saying is why, in some instances, it is better to have a guitar than a woman. now if someone is willing to come up with why women are better than guitars, i would love to hear about it. :D

what dreadnaught did you buy?

and unless you plan on doing a lot of live playing, a marshall stack is a total waste. it's so expensive for the immense power that you can rarely use. not that it wouldn't be awesome to have one, i wouldn't mind. but i think there are other things much more worth your money.

damnit.

I got a 1963 Fender Strat. Its cool cuz its got the original terrible pick ups on it.

I also bought a Martin Clapton from this guy for a cool $500. I sold it to a store for 1100 and got a dreadnaught and a nice chunk for a Marshall Stack. BWAHAHAHAH

Hey Faded, you're a guitar player I assume. What kind of axe(s) do you have. I'm no guitar expert, but I like a nice looking/sounding guitar. I plan on learning to play myself. I already play keyboards, trombone and a very little bit of bass guitar.
Rock on!
:)
