Is there any tool (preferably a free one) for merging skeletons with glm models and weighting them and stuff besides 3ds max? 3d studio max is insanely complicated and expensive too for just that process.

Thanks Ranius I'm downloading a couple things from there that might help.

wait, your title says "animate". What do you mean by that? Animation requires a bunch of extra stuff that I have no idea about.

I mean I have a model and skin but I need to merge the skeleton with it so I can apply the _humanoid.gla to the model so it'll work in the game. Carcass is involved via the Assimalate front end but I still need to do the skeleton thing first, before I can use Assimalate/Carcass.

To model, weigh and animate it, I believe.

I'm not sure if there are any other programs to do this. Try a Google Search. :D

Try Carcass, found in the SDK. Please note that I have no idea what I'm talking about. ;)

EDIT: wait, your title says "animate". What do you mean by that? Animation requires a bunch of extra stuff that I have no idea about.
