I'm tryin to get up a custom skin...well, not so much a skin as a WHOLE NEW model. I mean, making the actual phisycal(:confused apperance. ( not only the colors)so, in principle it'd be kinda DARTH VADER like. If there is just ANYBODY that at least *partitially* understands what i'm tryin to say here...Please send a link to a prog to use and a tut to read.(BIG eyes sayin *pleeaase*  )_______________ as long as there is light, there is darkness. if i won't win fighting i will win dying... |

Im fairly sure the creators used Softimage XSI to create the 3D meshes (models), and then convert them to the format to used by the QuakeIII game engine. Each model is animated, so they need several different keyframes for the movement of walking, swinging a lightsaber, everything... A good place to start would be Lucasfiles.com, heres a link to the Tools/Editing section, which has ALL of the original models and animations in XSI format, released by Raven themselves: http://www.lucasfiles.com/index.php?s=&action=category&id=61 Elsewhere on that site are hundreds of models that other people have done, in .pk3 format so you can use them straight away, and one of those might solve your problem. Creating and/or editing the models for JA is a big job, and if you're not already conversant with 3D software (i use Lightwave) you might find the learning curve a bit steep. Saying that, creating a virtual 'something from nothing' is very satisfying, and well worth the effort required to learn it.
