Do/did any of you guys play StarCraft?
That was one of my all-time favorite games. I was a HUGE WarCraft 2 player on Kali, salivated profusely over the prerelease teasers for StarCraft and bought it the very first day it was in stores. The graphics aren't as slick as the newer games today, but it's gameplay that makes a great game, not eye-candy. I've seen plenty of slicker-looking RTS games but never played one that measured up in playability. This is not to say that I think graphics don't count when assessing a game's quality; graphics, sound, music and "general atmosphere" are important too. But StarCraft has everything I could want in a game, even without state-of-the-art 3D-rendered graphics. Sadly, today if I log onto B-net, all the StarCraft games are BGH or "BGH with mucho mucho mucho mucho mucho money" or some lame nonsense like that. The people who liked maps with terrain and finite resources seem to have given up on the game entirely. Revival, anyone? _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

dang Liberator cruiser looks so cool.... I've played Starcraft and liked it. I used to play Dune on the Sega Genesis. But I think the ultimate RTS game is Homeworld: Cataclysm. I like the fact that you can move your fleet, ships, etc. to different "altitudes" as well. I was totally blown away by this game.

Always liked blizzard's rts games. too bad I suck at them Strategy games just aren't my thing. The only game I've ever been good at is the age-old star wars: rebellion. now THAT was a game. i used to play it for a while. but i gave up, officially declared myself "bad at strategy games" and closed the file.
i digged it up again when Warcraft3 came out and almost immediately closed it again with the same conclusion. so... no thanks _______________ make install -not war |

well I was into SC, but not to own others, just for fun. didnt play much on b-net, for that issue.
