Anyone have chance to see this yet? Oh my what a great movie, Ewan Mcgregor is picking the right movies for sure. Awesome acting and great action scenes make this a winner of 2005 If you aint familiar with the story being The Island then i will explain. Basically the world as we know it has been contaminated and people are stored in a facility air tight from the outside world. Every now and then a lottery is drawn and the Winner gets to go to a Mystery Island where there is no contamination. Ewan questions his reasons for being there and does some digging around and finds out the people there are actually clones, clones made to fix their real counterpart in the realworld ( ie. American footballer damages a kindey, the clone gets picked and is killed for the part needed ). Ewan works all this out and escapes with his best friend Scarlet Johansson and they try and piece it all together while being hunted down by the organisation behind the cloning. Well I watched Fantastic Four 50% because I used to read the comic books, and 50% because Jessica Alba is quite possibly the most purdy woman on the planet. |

I watched this movie a few days after its release with some friends, and Ewan McGregor is the man. He's a fantastic actor, especially in the movie Big Fish, but he does really well in The Island. I found the storyline to be very predictable, but the action in it was huge, it was a very fun ride.
