just an added note on that question. if your looking at having brabble within your own "channel" to scan the servers.. its a bit pointless and a bit lazy.. .and a no no in a way as some naughty people would use it to keep an eye on the academy servers.. You may need great knowledge of a scripting language for this and somewhere to host a client that will use the script. How it works in the Jedi Academy channel is there's an eggdrop bot called Brabble. It's hosted on a machine that's pretty much online 24/7. I believe the bot is coded in an IRC scripting language called TCL. When the bot sees "!serverscan" written in a channel, it has to check all the servers for the amount of players it has and send you the information. This site may be of some use. |
