It's been a relatively short time (4-6 Months) compared to the long time (Years) where I felt a game can pull you in and just let your imagination go. God of War for PS2 released earlier this year was a great action game and contained the perfect elements to pull you in and make you engrossed with the game from beginning to end. It was rare that I wanted to put the controller down for that game, and it's rare for Shadow of the Colossus as well. Not sure if anyone has checked out ICO from 4 years ago, but the same creators of that made "Colossus". SOTC's basic storyline is that you play the role of a boy trying to save a girl that has lost her soul. She looks to be pretty much dead, but you make your way to a temple where "The Powers That Be" aka The Gods of this game let you know that to bring a soul back is impossible, unless you were to take on the Colossi. The Colossi are a group of Huge/Gigantic/Gargantuan type beings that roam the land. Armed with only your horse, bow&arrow, and sword, you traverse the lands in search of these Colossi. Upon finding one, it's not just your usual hack&slasheasytokill boss fights. These beings are puzzles unto themselves. I've had a fight where trying to figure it out (without help from online or strat guide sources, trial and error etc) took me to about the 1-1.5 hour mark, and I wasn't bored or angry (maybe just a little), but I was so involved in bringing down this Colossus that I didn't even realize just how much time I put into it. It might not contain a huge amount of weapons, but the scenery and composition, let alone the story and soundtrack are just, gripping. If you guys/gals want a different taste and different experience, and would like to join the ride (and a great one it is!), I'd truly suggest picking it up. Ok just finished it what a truly fantastic game, possibly the greatest game i have ever played. It drags you in and doesnt let you go until its complete, The fights are one massive adrenaline rush from start to finish and the feeling of victory everytime one crashes down is something i have never experienced in a game before. Nice! I just recently got through all the Hard Time Trials, they are definitely tough! Playing through the Hard Mode this 2nd time through with all the unlocks, great stuff! Enjoy the game Monte! When you finish the game, you save it and you should have a #2 to the right of the save data. At this point, Hard Mode is unlocked, and Time Trial for the Normal version. For every 2 Colossi you defeat in Time Trial, you get a special item that is a bonus to another play through the normal game. Some of the item's are cool, others, are "iffy". Once you beat Hard Mode, Hard Time Trials are unlocked and you can get 8 more items to add, but these are pretty much all bad@$$. I finished recently the Normal Time Trials, but I only really want to move onto Hard Mode. Beating on Normal with the unlocked items is cool and all, but it seems sort of wasteful. Well I beat it. What an ending! unbelievable! I still don't get the ending though, it's a wild one. Didn't you say there was a GAJILLION hidden things to replay? When I replay from a load game his body and hair return to normal and zero colossi are beat, along with the girl asleep. Is it supposed to be like this? _______________ Free Tibet!
