who is to say either jedi or sith code is correct, even if you act with the best of intentions, and do something for a greater good it does not automatically make you correct or your way of life ideal. As for being a stormie.. well you would be feared by many people and would hold a certain respect from others, but overal you are just a faceless trooper. _______________ To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield | Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken | Rhaiko D'kana - SWTOR EU Guild Co-Founder | Is it what the teacher, teaches? Don't be fooled. The Jedi Code is not a set of rules but a set of guidelines. just like O'Linn said _______________ Proud owner of Wicek's 2400th comment!Mindrith Pride's 1200th comment!Alex's 3100th comment!obi's 700th comment! Quote: "There is no ignorance, there is knowledge"- pa-lease! Then why do they not know enough to stop conflicts before they begin? why are they always seeking knowledge? Only if this thought is expanded on does it make sence, but it is worded quite poorly. Once a person has aquired knowledge, how they act upon it is thier choice, and it is an active choice, you can't be ignorant about it. You actively make choices based on what you know and what you don't, whatever that choice happens to be. Hmm.. I see that as meaning there is no ignorance, as there is the constant quest for knowledge. Not pure knowledge, as in they know everything already, but the drive to learn everything. I dont know if that makes sence. So i guess id be a sith lord... you know.. just there to improve myself. But id be one of those secluded sith lords, who doesnt go and kills everything for the sake of killing everything. Id kill it if it tresspassed (just kidding) _______________ When you become an actor, you become the person, and you dont act anymore. You just are. - Tyler HP, Taught by Mr G Simpson |

Quote: if this were to happen in "real" life, i dont believe that 'normal' human beings can follow the jedi code. Even in the movies and stories, jedi can't follow thier own code. "there is no emotion, there is peace"- riiiiiiiiiiight. Even obi-wan felt love, one of the most powerfull of emotions. 'I loved you like a brother!' Trust in your feelings, they tell thier students - aside from the feelings that go against their code. But according to thier code, there ARE no emotions. The inconsistancies in thier code and thier teaches are laughable. What a person 'feels' is right is tied to thier emotions. To deny them is to cut yourself off from what makes you what you are. "There is no ignorance, there is knowledge"- pa-lease! "There is no passion - there is serenity"- then why was windu so irritated when the senate tried to pressure the jedi council? This goes in the same catogry as emotion, it just cant work. To lose all passion means you have no force driving you. You have no stimulus, nothing to reach for. If a person truely had no passion, they would not care if people were being hurt by the actions of others. They would be cold, logical, and ultimantly, nothing more then a voice in the wind. There needs to be passion for SOMETHING inside a person, even a jedi, or all we are is bumps on a log, watching the world go by while we stand still. "There is no death - there is the force" This is the only part of the code that MIGHT have some relevance and might actualy work. This is why i believe the jedi of old started training at a very young age. When a child is young, it develops by what it see's around it, what it is taught. If they raise a child in such a way, then the code has more of a chance at working. This is why I couldn't be a jedi, were i able to wield the force. My emotions, passions, and mind can not see the code working. My feelings make me what I am, my sence of right and wrong, and so on. Just because a lifetime of experiances allows me to keep them controled most of the time doesnt mean that they arn't there. I might be a good person at heart, but that doesnt mean that I can't be bitter or angery. I've seen people that arn't 'good' be cool, calm, and collected when doing certain things. Just because you are 'evil' doesnt mean that you always act out of rage or passion. In a 'perfect' world, perhaps the jedi could could work. But not in a human one. I believe that the code originally wasnt meant to be literally lived, but more of a goal to AIM to reach.something to fight towards,or sumthing to seek for.As we all need boundaries to keep us from things. _______________ Comments Owned- Darth Mike's100th. Well, being a Jedi is very similar to Buddhism (with the force and lightsabers). Being a Sith Lord is just a quest for more power, and when you achieve it, more power (like a Politician). Being a Storm Trooper is like being a guard with a wimpy gun, a blind fold on, and knowing you're 100% expendable. _______________ Top ten reasons to get a better computer...|My fan |
