Am I the only one who gets anxious when their favourite book is rendered into a movie? I've always been very possessive of my affections, especially when it comes to stories and music, and have therefore always thought of my favourite books as "my books!". It's a bit ridiculous way of thinking, especially with LotR (which is one of my favourite stories ever) which has sold millions and millions and millions worldwide.

But still I get a itch in my butt when I hear that MY book is being made into a movie. I enjoyed LotR as a movie, but not as a dramatisation. I knew the story inside out, including all the extra-reading on Middle Earth, and was thus disappointed at some of Peter Jackson's decisions.

Now, Narnia. My mother first read the books out loud to me when I was 3 years old, and as soon as I could read I've been reading them on and off every single year. I loved the BBC version (a short series with only four books covered), which was pretty childish and low budget, but they nailed the story down perfectly, IMO.

The Narnia movie premiers here on 23 December, and I will definitely go and see it, at least to alleviate my fears (or confirm them).

Meh, I should have probably created a new thread for this book>movie discussion. But I didn't because I'm SPECIAL!

Heh. I've read the entire series, and just happened to see the movie tonight. It was great, but a little cheesy at times. Lucy looks JUST like my sister was when she was 5! :D
